OXVA Xlim SQ Pro 2 Review After Two Weeks of Daily Use

I carried the OXVA Xlim SQ Pro 2 in Celadon Marble, the kit in the photos below, for two weeks. It went alongside my Xlim Pro 2 and NeXlim, through busy workdays and a trip to Spain. By the end it had become my main kit, ahead of the other OXVA vapes I carried.

It was not the touch screen on its own that won me over. This is my take on the touch screen kit in our OXVA Xlim range after daily use, not first impressions.

Is the OXVA Xlim SQ Pro 2 a Good Vape

Yes, it is the most complete Xlim I have used. Its 1600mAh battery gets a heavy vaper through the day, and the touch screen responds the moment you swipe. It also takes the same Xlim pods as the rest of the range.

The trade-offs are size and weight. At 114g it is heavier than a Pro 2, and some of the extra tools on the screen add little.

Xlim SQ Pro 2 Touch Screen

I was sceptical, because every touchscreen pod kit I had tried before was laggy, confusing or both. OXVA got this one right.

Swipe right and the wattage comes up, then slide your finger and the number changes as you go. Fine tuning between 14W and 16W on a 0.8 ohm pod takes a second. The Pro 2 needs a string of button presses.

In bright sunlight in Spain the screen stayed readable without tilting or shading it. It also locks itself a few seconds after you stop touching it, so nothing changes in a pocket.

OXVA give it 4 themes, 4 animations and 4 wallpapers, 64 combinations in all. That is not a reason to buy the kit, but few pod kits at this price offer anything like it.

Puff Diary

The puff diary works like a step counter for vaping. It has a live count, a weekly overview and 30 days of trends. OXVA say the records stay on the kit and that they do not collect any of the data.

I found it more useful than I expected. Seeing my daily puff count showed me patterns I had not noticed. That helps if you are trying to cut down.

Torch, Stopwatch and Eco Mode

Six tools sit on the screen, from a torch and a stopwatch to eco mode and 12 languages. The torch and stopwatch feel like filler. I used the torch once, to find a pod I had dropped behind the sofa, and never touched the stopwatch.

Eco mode is the one worth having, as it stretches the battery out on lighter days.

How Long Does the Battery Last on the OXVA Xlim SQ Pro 2

On the 0.8 ohm pod at 14W, the 1600mAh battery lasted me a full day and evening without charging. On the 0.6 ohm pod at a higher wattage it still made it through a workday. OXVA rate it at up to 7 days in eco mode on light use.

I vape dessert nic salts at 10mg and 5mg through the day, which is moderate to heavy use. It kept up every day of testing without a lunchtime top-up. My Pro 2, with its 1300mAh battery, can't say the same.

When it does need charging, OXVA say it goes from flat to full in 45 minutes over USB-C. Between the battery and eco mode, it is the longest lasting Xlim I have used.

OXVA Xlim SQ Pro 2 Pods

The SQ Pro 2 takes all three types of Xlim cartridge: Xlim Top Fill, Xlim EZ and the older Xlim V2. It comes with a 0.6 ohm Top Fill pod fitted and a 0.8 ohm in the box. Spare Xlim Top Fill pods come in all four resistances.

I mostly used the 0.8 ohm pod for nic salts, with Xlim EZ pods alongside. The EZ snap top lid is easier to refill than the Top Fill's silicone bung. That helps if you have bigger fingers.

These are OXVA's wattage ranges for each Xlim pod, and every resistance is in our OXVA pods range:

On the 0.8 ohm pod, the side airflow gives a tight draw close to a cigarette. On the 0.6 ohm it opens up to a looser draw with more vapour. Our 0.6 vs 0.8 ohm Xlim pod guide covers which one to pick.

Flavour and Auto Draw

Flavour is on par with my Pro 2 and NeXlim. Dessert nic salts come through clean on the 0.8 ohm pod at 14W. The layers of a custard or bakery flavour hold up across the life of the pod.

The auto draw is well judged, not so sensitive that it fires in a pocket and never slow to respond. It holds the same output as the battery drops. At 20% I was getting the same flavour as on a full charge.

Xlim SQ Pro 2 vs Xlim Pro 2

The SQ Pro 2 and the Xlim Pro 2 share the same pods, 5 to 30W output and auto draw. The difference comes down to the battery, the screen and the size.

Battery and screen are the two big upgrades, and the vaping itself is close to identical. If your Pro 2 gets you through the day, there is no urgent reason to swap. If you want more battery and a quicker way to change settings, the SQ Pro 2 is the better kit.

Who the SQ Pro 2 Suits

The SQ Pro 2 suits three kinds of vaper:

• Heavy daily vapers who need a battery that lasts past 6pm
• Anyone who wants quick wattage changes without pressing buttons
• Xlim owners who want to upgrade their refillable vape without buying new pods

If you want something simpler, the Xlim Go 2 has no buttons at all, just fill and draw. If you want a fire button, the Xlim Pro 3 fires on draw or on the button. The Xlim 3 Ultra has a bigger 2.2 inch touch screen. All of them take the same Xlim pods.
