What Is a Prefilled Pod Vape Kit?

A prefilled pod vape kit is a rechargeable vape that takes pods with the e-liquid already sealed inside. The pod clicks in, you vape it, and when it is empty you swap it for a fresh one.

There is no coil to fit, no bottle to pour and nothing to set. Charge the kit, click in a pod, and that is the whole of it. The kit is the part you keep, so only a small pod goes in the bin.

You will see the same thing called a disposable pod kit or a prefilled vape kit, and they all mean this. It is the simplest format we sell, and every other shape is in the vape kits hub.

Prefilled Pods After the Disposable Ban

Single-use vapes stopped being legal to sell in the UK on 1 June 2025. The prefilled pod kit is the disposable vape alternative that replaced them, from the same brands, and plenty of people still call it a rechargeable disposable vape.

The flavours, the draw and the nicotine hit carry over almost unchanged. What changed is that you charge the device and buy pods for it. Our guide to the disposable ban covers what the law actually says.

Puff Counts, and What Actually Decides Them

Puff count is a marketing number. It is the model name on the box more often than a measurement, and it is the least reliable way to compare two kits.

Two things decide how long a kit lasts, and neither of them is printed on the front.

• How much e-liquid it holds. A sealed pod holds 2ml, the UK limit. Bigger kits add a 10ml auto-refill container that tops the pod up through a one-way valve as you vape.
• What the coil resistance is. That sets how much liquid each puff uses. The Elf Bar 600 coil is 1.2 ohm, the Lost Mary BM6000 is 1.1 ohm, and the lower one pulls harder, so it gets fewer puffs from the same millilitres rather than more.
• How the draw is measured. Short, tight puffs on the manufacturer's own rig. Al Fakher say so themselves on the 50K listing, which is more than most brands admit.

So the useful question about a big puff vape is not how many puffs. It is how many millilitres, and at what resistance.

Look at the second row again. The Lost Mary BM6000 and the Lost Mary Nera 15K hold exactly the same 12ml, a 2ml pod and a 10ml container, from the same manufacturer. One is sold as 6,000 puffs and the other as 15,000.

The 600 figure is the one that holds up, because the sum is checkable: 2ml at 1.2 ohm works out at roughly three microlitres a puff. At that same rate 12ml is nearer 3,600 puffs than 15,000, and 20ml is nearer 6,000 than 50,000.

None of that makes the bigger kits worse. It makes millilitres the honest way to compare them. The shop is still sorted the way people search, so there are pages for 600, 6,000, 10,000, 15,000 and 20,000 puff kits.

Which Prefilled Pod Kit Should You Buy?

Pick the flavour range first and the size second, because you will live with the flavours far longer than the battery. Five that sell steadily, smallest first, with the e-liquid each one actually holds.

Two newer ones sit either side of the middle of that table. The PIXL 5K holds 6ml a pod set and is the smallest rechargeable we stock, and the Elux Legend 8000 holds 12ml with the old Legend bar flavours.

Newer still, the Zeus Bar Liq XV 15K kit holds 12ml a pod across ten flavours, and its pods can be refilled with your own e-liquid.

What a Prefilled Pod Kit Costs

Prefilled pod kits start at £3.99 and most sit between £7 and £12. The kit price includes the first pod, so nothing else is needed on day one.

• £3.99 to £5, the 600 and 1,500 puff kits. One pod in the box and a small battery.
• £7 to £9, the 6,000 to 15,000 range, where most people land.
• £10 to £12, the 25,000 puff kits and up, sold with a set of pods rather than one.

Priced by the millilitre it flips round. £3.99 for 2ml is about £2 a millilitre, where £11.49 for 20ml is nearer 57p. The bigger kits are the better value, which the puff counts get right for the wrong reason.

Nicotine Strength and Flavours

Most prefilled pods are 20mg nic salt, which is the strength single-use vapes used and the one most ex-smokers want.

That is no longer the only option. Several kits now come in 10mg as well, which suits lighter smokers and anyone stepping down. The nicotine strength guide covers how to choose.

Flavour is the real limit of the format. A prefilled kit only takes its own brand's pods, so you are choosing a flavour list as much as a device.

There is no such thing as a refillable disposable vape. A sealed pod is swapped, not topped up. If you want any flavour at any strength, that is a refillable kit and a bottle of nic salt.

Charging and Swapping Pods

Nothing here needs learning, but three things save trouble.

• Charging, USB-C on everything, and about an hour from flat. Charge it before the first pod rather than after.
• Pod swaps, pull the old one straight out and push the new one in. Wipe the contacts if the flavour has gone weak.
