At Ecigone, we care about where our waste ends up. Plastic pollution is a huge problem for our planet — damaging waterways, wildlife, and the environment as a whole.

We're committed to reducing waste wherever we can and encouraging our customers to do the same. Recycling matters, and it’s something we take seriously.

Recycling & Sustainability Policy

Whether it’s glass, cardboard, plastic, or metal, all of it plays a part in making the world a cleaner, safer place. We aim to run a more sustainable business and support responsible recycling wherever possible.

Why Recycling Vape Products Matters

The scale of waste caused by disposable vapes in the UK alone is staggering. According to BusinessWaste.co.uk:

  • Around 138 million disposables are sold in the UK every year
  • 5.4 million disposable vapes are thrown away each month
  • 6 million rechargeable vapes are also binned monthly
  • Only 23% of people recycle vapes in-store or at local recycling centres
  • Around 23 tonnes of lithium are wasted annually from disposable vape batteries
  • Global vape production releases nearly 9 million tonnes of CO2 every year

These stats show why small changes — like recycling your used vape devices — really do matter. We all need to do our bit to minimise environmental impact, and we’re here to help make that easier.

How to Recycle Vape Kits

Most vape kits are made from a mix of plastic, metal, and electronics. To recycle responsibly:

  • Remove batteries (unless they’re built-in). These should be recycled separately.
  • Take apart the device if you can. Metal panels, plastic shells, and other parts can be separated.
  • Tanks and pods can be cleaned with warm soapy water. Glass and plastic parts can then go in your standard household recycling.

For battery recycling, many supermarkets now offer drop-off points, and you can also check the Recycle Your Electronics website to find your nearest recycling centre.
