50/50 Shortfill FAQs

Neither is better; they suit different kits. 50/50 is thinner, gives more throat hit and less vapour, and wicks properly through the small coils in pod kits and MTL tanks. 70/30 is thicker, smoother and cloudier, and needs a sub-ohm tank to wick. Pick by your coil, not the brand: above about 0.6 ohm you want 50/50, below 0.5 ohm you want 70/30.

Yes, that is what it is for. A 50/50 shortfill is thin enough to wick through pod coils from 0.6 to 1.2 ohm, where a standard 70/30 shortfill would give dry hits. Finish it with a nic salt shot for the smooth hit pod kits are known for, and you have a full bottle of pod liquid for a fraction of the price per ml of 10ml bottles.

Stick between 0.6 ohm and 1.2 ohm at lower wattages. Most MTL pod kits ship with coils in that range, so you should not need to change anything. Drop below 0.4 ohm and the thinner 50/50 liquid tends to flood the coil and spit back at you.

A nic salt shot, in most cases. It keeps the finished liquid smooth at the strengths pod kits are set up for, and it matches what the 10ml salts you may be moving from feel like. Use an 18mg freebase shot instead if you want more throat hit at 3mg. Either way it is one 10ml shot per 50ml of shortfill.
