50/50 shortfills are MTL vape juices sold in larger bottles of nicotine-free e-liquid. Because they’re only filled to 80%, there’s room to add your own nic shots and set the strength how you like it. With their 50/50 VG/PG blend, they strike a balance between flavour, throat hit, and vapour - making them perfect for pod vape kits, MTL tanks and if you prefer to rebuild, then MTL RTA’s too.
Bottle sizes usually range from 40ml to 200ml, giving you far more e-liquid compared with standard 10ml nic salts. This means pod kit users who prefer lower nicotine strengths don’t have to stick to the small bottles that nic salts are limited to.

What Vape Kits are Best for 50/50 Vape Juice?
50/50 e-liquids work best in lower-powered kits like refillable pod vape kits, starter vape kits, MTL tanks, or MTL RTAs. Their thinner consistency is perfect for higher resistance coils, generally between 0.6Ω and 1.2Ω.
For examples, check out popular refillable pod ranges like the OXVA Xlim, Vaporesso XROS, or Uwell Caliburn series. All of these give you a tight, flavourful MTL draw and are built to work perfectly with 50/50 shortfills.
How Do I Use 50/50 Shortfill Vape Juice?
Every bottle comes zero-nicotine with space for extra liquid. For a 50ml shortfill, there’s usually space for one 10ml nic shot to make 3mg nicotine strength. You can choose freebase shots if you like a stronger throat hit, or nic salt shots if you prefer a smoother feel. There are also nicotine-free base shots if you just want to increase the volume without adding strength.
Ideally, pair your 50/50 vape juice with 50/50 nic shots. Higher VG nic shots should be saved for high VG shortfills, usually 70/30 blends. Once you’ve added your shots, shake the bottle, let it stand for a few minutes, then fill up your vape tank or refillable pod and you’re ready to go.
