MTL RTA vs Stock-Coil MTL Tank
The difference is how the coil gets in there. A stock-coil MTL tank uses pre-made coil heads you screw in and throw away, while a rebuildable MTL tank gives you a build deck where you install your own wire and cotton. The flavour from an MTL RTA is noticeably better - a smaller chamber, a tighter airflow path, and you pick the exact wire and resistance to suit what you vape.
Running costs drop too. A spool of wire and a bag of cotton lasts months against buying replacement coil heads every couple of weeks. The trade-off is time: five or ten minutes to build and wick. Most MTL vape enthusiasts who switch to a rebuildable do not go back.
Building an MTL RTA: Coils, Wire and Cotton
MTL RTA builds are straightforward. Simple round wire at 0.8Ω to 1.2Ω covers most setups, or fused claptons for a bit more warmth and texture. A mesh MTL RTA is an option if you prefer an easier install, and premade coils work just as well if you would rather skip the wrapping. Single-Coil, High-End and 22mm MTL RTAs
Most MTL RTAs, and MTL RBAs, are 22mm single-coil builds, which keep the chamber tight for flavour. High-end MTL RTAs add premium materials, precise top airflow and finer juice-flow control, while budget options still build and wick the same way. Whichever you choose, look for adjustable airflow so you can dial the draw from a tight cigarette-style pull to a slightly airier MTL. For a looser, cloud-focused build instead, the RTA tanks page covers the rest.
