OXVA vs Vaporesso: Xlim and XROS Pod Kits Compared

OXVA and Vaporesso both make 30W refillable pod kits that fire when you draw, and the biggest difference between them is the pod. An OXVA Xlim takes Xlim top fill cartridges, a Vaporesso XROS takes COREX pods, and the two do not swap.

Is OXVA Better Than Vaporesso

Neither is better across the board. They split on how you set the power, the pods and the extras, so the right one depends on what you want from the kit.

• Setting the power: on the Xlim Pro 3 you set any wattage from 5 to 30W with any pod. On the XROS 6 and XROS Pro 2 you set a wattage only on the 0.4 ohm pod, and pick Power, Normal or Eco on the others.
• Pods: Xlim cartridges come in 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm. XROS pods add a 1.0 ohm, from 0.4 to 1.2 ohm.
• Filling: both fill from the top. On an Xlim you lift a silicone plug with the pod still in the kit, and on an XROS you snap off the mouthpiece.
• Priming: Vaporesso build a 60 second Smart Prime into the XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini. OXVA say to leave a fresh Xlim pod for 5 to 8 minutes.
• Power: the Xlim and XROS kits top out at 30W. OXVA's NeXlim kits go to 40W.

OXVA Xlim vs Vaporesso XROS

Each OXVA pod kit has a close match in the XROS range. These are the pairs people weigh up:

Xlim Pro 3 vs XROS Pro 2

These are the two flagships. The XROS Pro 2 has the bigger battery and Super Pulse, and the Xlim Pro 3 has the bigger screen, a smaller body and a set wattage on every pod.

Both pulse the power through the draw. OXVA say the Photon chip keeps over 80% of the flavour at 20% battery. Vaporesso brought Super Pulse down from their tank mods, for a faster ramp at the start of the inhale.

Pick the XROS Pro 2 for battery life. Pick the Xlim Pro 3 for a smaller kit, the bigger screen, or a set wattage on a 0.6 or 0.8 ohm pod.

Xlim Pro 3 vs XROS 6

The XROS 6 is Vaporesso's full-size screen kit and the closest match to the Pro 3 on size.

The XROS 6 has the bigger battery, faster charging and the lighter body. The Pro 3 has the bigger screen and lets you set a wattage on any pod.

Xlim Go 2 vs XROS 6 Mini and XROS 5 Mini

All three have no buttons and no screen: you fill the pod and draw. They suit anyone moving to a refillable kit for the first time.

The Go 2 is the lightest and comes with the tighter 0.8 ohm pod for nic salt. The XROS 6 Mini has the biggest battery of the three and a 60 second prime, and the XROS 5 Mini is the only one with a cable in the box.

NeXlim 2 vs Vaporesso XROS

The NeXlim 2 is OXVA's dual mesh kit, and it goes to 40W where every XROS stops at 30W. Its closest XROS on battery is the Pro 2, with 2000mAh each.

The NeXlim 2 has more power and faster charging. The XROS Pro 2 is lighter, has a fire button and takes a 0.4 ohm pod.

OXVA Pods vs Vaporesso XROS Pods

Pods do not cross over between the brands, or between Xlim and NeXlim, so the pods you already own can decide it for you.

Vaporesso give no pod life for COREX 3.0. In our experience an XROS pod lasts about one to two weeks with everyday vaping. OXVA rate a NeXlim UNITECH 3.0 cartridge at up to 30 refills in Eco and 20 in Boost.

The XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini have no reviews on our site yet, and six reviews are too few to read much into the NeXlim 2 score.

• Xlim Pro 3: build quality and flavour come up most. Customers moving up from the Xlim Pro 2 mention the bigger screen and longer battery life, and one liked having the fire button for anyone the auto-draw sensor doesn't suit. One heavy vaper found the battery ran down too quickly.
• XROS Pro 2: battery and price come up most. One customer found the battery life shorter than expected, and two of the reviews at three stars or below report a pod leaking.
• Xlim Go 2 and XROS 5 Mini: customers call both simple and easy to carry. XROS 5 Mini owners talk about battery life more than anything else, and Xlim Go 2 owners about flavour. One Go 2 owner points out that no charging cable comes in the box.
• Pods: flavour is the main praise for both Xlim V3 and XROS COREX 3.0 pods. The complaints are about the odd pod in a pack: a COREX pod that leaks, or an Xlim pod that tastes burnt early.

• NeXlim 2 or XROS Pro 2 for a 2000mAh battery: the NeXlim 2 for 40W and 3A charging, the XROS Pro 2 for a lighter kit with a fire button.
• Xlim Go 2 or XROS 6 Mini for nothing to set: the Go 2 is lighter, the XROS 6 Mini has the bigger battery.
