Vaporesso XROS 6 Review: The Owner's Verdict

Ellie, one of Ecigone's owners, has used every generation of the XROS, and she rates the XROS 6 as the best one yet. She has used it as her daily kit since it arrived, so this review is her verdict. Every spec is checked against Vaporesso's own manuals and product pages.

The short version: after review, she prefers the XROS 6 to her XROS 5. But, she would still not tell most happy XROS 5 owners to upgrade. If you're trying an XROS for the first time, or your current one needs replacing, the Vaporesso XROS 6 pod kit is the one she would recommend.

Ellie's Verdict

Both halves of that are true at once. Ellie finds the draw smoother and the battery lasts her that bit longer, so given the choice she picks the XROS 6. But the gap is not big enough that a happy XROS 5 owner should feel behind.

When Did the XROS 6 Come Out?

Vaporesso do not give a release date on their site. At Ecigone, we added the XROS 6 and the XROS 6 Mini to our range on 13 May 2026.

The Draw: VENTURI Airflow

This is the change Ellie noticed most when reviewing the XROS 6. In her words, "the draw is smoother".

Vaporesso credit VENTURI airflow, which their own comparison table lists on the XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini only. They say it is optimised using fluid dynamics to cut noise and resistance, for a quieter, smoother draw and better flavour. They show figures of 20% for flavour and 30% for smoothness, but do not say what those are measured against.

Vaporesso's page describes a side airflow toggle that takes you from a tight MTL draw to a looser one, and the manual's drawing shows it on the side, although the manual's text says the back.

Battery and Charging

The XROS 6 has an 1800mAh battery, increased from 1500mAh on the XROS 5. Ellie says "it gets me through the day with room to spare". Vaporesso's lab figure is up to 5 days on a single charge, although they do not say what kind of use that is based on.

• Charging: USB-C, at 5V/3A or 9V/2A, with a cable in the box.
• Charge time: Vaporesso say around 50% in 10 minutes with 3A fast charging, which they describe as a full day of use. They give no full charge time.
• On screen: the battery level shows when you click the button or fit a pod, and a charging animation plays while it charges.
• POWER SAVE: an option in the theme menu that turns the screen off while you inhale. Vaporesso do not say how much battery it saves.

How to Set Up the XROS 6

Setting up takes a few minutes, and the only wait is 1 minute for the coil to prime once inserted. The steps from Vaporesso's manual for setting the device up are:

1. On a new kit, peel the sticker off the pod that comes fitted.
2. Snap off the mouthpiece and squeeze e-liquid into the filling hole. Refit the mouthpiece and make sure it is shut firmly.
3. On the first fill, wait 1 minute for the coil to prime. Vaporesso say the 1 minute prime applies at a room temperature of 5°C or above.
4. Set the airflow with the toggle.
5. Click the button 5 times within 2 seconds to turn the kit on.
6. Press the button or just inhale to vape. It fires both ways.

To change a pod, pull the old one out and push the new one in. To charge, use the USB-C cable that's included in the box.

XROS 6 Settings and Controls

With the XROS 6, everything is controlled from the one button:

• 1 click: shows the battery level. Pressing the button also fires the kit while the fire button setting is on.
• 2 clicks: opens the menu, with THEME, PRIME COIL, POWER and SETTING.
• 3 clicks within 2 seconds: changes the power. With a 0.4Ω pod you set the wattage in 0.5W steps, and with 0.6 to 1.2Ω pods you choose PWR, NOR or ECO.
• 4 clicks: locks the screen. Click 4 times within 2 seconds to unlock. While it is locked, the manual says only inhaling and power on and off still work.
• 5 clicks within 2 seconds: turns the kit on or off.
• Hold for 3 seconds: starts PRIME COIL, but only while the fire button setting is off.

SETTING holds the screen lock, the inhalation animation, the fire button, QUICK DRAW and the puff counter reset. A blue light means an option is on, and orange means it is off. Turning the fire button off leaves the kit working on the draw only.

PRIME COIL takes 60 seconds. You can start it from the menu, and hold the button for 3 seconds to stop it. Vaporesso's manual does not say exactly what it does to the coil. Neither the manual nor the page says how many watts each of PWR, NOR and ECO gives.

Vaporesso's XROS 6 page says that, for regulatory reasons, the on-screen interface on UK versions differs from the standard version, but it does not say how. The menus and controls on a UK kit may not match the manual exactly.

What Is QUICK DRAW on the XROS 6?

QUICK DRAW changes the power without the button. Take two draws in a row and the kit moves to the next setting:

• With 0.6 to 1.2Ω pods: it switches between PWR, NOR and ECO.
• With a 0.4Ω pod: it steps through 15W, 25W and 30W.

You can turn QUICK DRAW on or off in SETTING. Vaporesso do not say whether it is on when the kit arrives, or how quickly the two draws need to be.

Which Pods Fit the XROS 6?

Vaporesso say the XROS 6 is compatible with the entire XROS pod series. The UK kit comes with two 2ml pods: a 0.6Ω pod fitted and a 0.8Ω pod in the box. Vaporesso sell XROS pods by resistance, such as the 0.6Ω mesh pod, and each one has its mesh coil inside, so you change the whole pod when the flavour fades.

Vaporesso's XROS pod page gives a best wattage for each of these pods. The figures are for XROS pods in general, not for the XROS 6 in particular:

On the XROS 6 you can only set a wattage with the 0.4Ω pod, and its best wattage of 25W is one of the three QUICK DRAW steps. With the 0.6 to 1.2Ω pods you choose PWR, NOR or ECO instead, and Vaporesso do not say what wattage those give, so the other figures are a guide only.

The UK kit has no 0.4Ω pod, so you need to buy one separately to set the wattage. The XROS 6 page and manual both cover the 0.4Ω pod, although Vaporesso's XROS pod page has not caught up: it still lists the 0.4Ω pod as COREX 2.0 and names only older kits as compatible. Vaporesso now describe all XROS pods as COREX 3.0.

XROS 6 Colours

Vaporesso list the XROS 6 in 18 colours: Cosmic Black, Abyssal Blue, Slate Black, Carbon Fiber Gray, Silk Green, Silk Gray, Silk Brown, Pearl White, Dreamy Pink, Scorching Cloud and Aurora Blue, plus seven marked New: Chrono Black, Chrono Green, Chrono White, Azure Flow, Scarlet Flow, Racing Black and Racing Navy. There are no leather colours on the XROS 6.

What About the XROS 6 Mini?

Ellie's review is of the XROS 6. The XROS 6 Mini is the smaller, simpler version, and on Vaporesso's figures it differs like this:

Both have VENTURI airflow, SSS 2.0 leak protection and the 1 minute first fill prime, and both take XROS pods. To switch the 6 Mini between ECO and POWER, take two gentle puffs within one second. Vaporesso list it in 18 colours too, including Leather Brown, Leather Pink and Leather Silver.

Who Should Buy the XROS 6?

Buy the XROS 6 if you are new to the XROS range or replacing a tired kit. In Ellie's words, "this is the one to get".

Keep your XROS 5 if it is working and you are happy with it. Ellie uses the XROS 6 every day and prefers it, and still gives that advice. Your pods fit both kits, so you can switch whenever your XROS 5 is due a replacement.
