OXVA Xlim Pro 3 vs NeXlim 2: Which Should You Buy?

The OXVA Xlim Pro 3 and NeXlim 2 split on power and pods. The Xlim Pro 3 is the slimmer 30W kit with the bigger screen, and it takes Xlim pods. The NeXlim 2 goes to 40W with a 2000mAh battery and faster charging, and it takes NeXlim pods.

The Pro 3 is part of the OXVA Xlim series, and the NeXlim 2 sits next to it with the NeXlim 2 Mini.

OXVA do not make a NeXlim Pro 3. The Pro 3 is the Xlim Pro 3, and the NeXlim 2 is the current NeXlim.

What Are the Key Differences Between the NeXlim 2 and Xlim Pro 3

The NeXlim 2 has more power, a bigger battery and faster charging. The Xlim Pro 3 is smaller and lighter, has the bigger screen and fires on the button as well as the draw. They take different pods.

Xlim Pro 3 vs NeXlim 2 Pods

This is the difference that matters most if you already own an OXVA kit, because Xlim and NeXlim pods do not swap.

• Xlim Pro 3: Xlim top fill (V3) and Xlim EZ pods, in 0.4, 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm. It comes with a 0.6 and a 0.8 ohm top fill pod.
• NeXlim 2: NeXlim UNITECH 3.0 cartridges in 0.6, 0.8 and 1.2 ohm, and the original UNITECH 2.0 NeXlim pods. It comes with a 0.6 and a 0.8 ohm cartridge.

OXVA do not list the older side fill Xlim V2 pod for the Pro 3, so check before you rely on a drawer of V2 pods.

Every NeXlim pod has two mesh coils. In Boost mode the NeXlim 2 fires both together, and in Eco they take turns so the pod lasts longer. There is no 0.4 ohm NeXlim pod, so the loosest NeXlim draw is the 0.6 ohm.

Spare Xlim V3 pods come in packs of three.

Xlim Pro 3 vs NeXlim 2 Battery and Charging

• Battery: 2000mAh on the NeXlim 2 against 1500mAh on the Pro 3
• Charging: 5V/3A on the NeXlim 2, 80% in about 20 minutes, against 5V/2A on the Pro 3, 80% in about 30 minutes

OXVA rate a full Pro 3 charge at up to five days, depending on how much you vape. The NeXlim 2 battery is a third bigger, and Eco mode stretches it further.

Xlim Pro 3 vs NeXlim 2 Power and Flavour

The NeXlim 2 goes to 40W against the Pro 3's 30W. OXVA rate its Super Pulse chip at 200% atomisation and its dual mesh coils at up to 200% more flavour in Boost mode.

The Pro 3 uses OXVA's Photon chip, which pulses power to the coil to keep the output steady. OXVA say it keeps over 80% of the flavour at 20% battery, the point where a lot of pod kits start to taste flat.

OXVA set the NeXlim 0.6 ohm pod at 20 to 40W and the Xlim 0.6 ohm at 20 to 25W, so for an RDL draw the NeXlim 2 has more room. For a tight MTL draw on an Xlim 0.8 or 1.2 ohm pod, OXVA's settings stay at 16W or under, and the Pro 3's 30W is plenty.

Xlim Pro 3 vs NeXlim 2 Size and Screen

The Pro 3 is the smaller kit at 115.7 x 25.7 x 15mm and 77.4g. The NeXlim 2 is 127.5 x 28.5 x 17.5mm and 88.5g.

The Pro 3 has the bigger screen, a 1.05 inch HD panel at 300 nits that stays easy to read outdoors. The NeXlim 2 has a 0.85 inch colour screen with 10 themes that unlock as you vape.

The Pro 3 fires on the draw or the button, and the button locks. The NeXlim 2 fires on the draw. Both have a side airflow slider, and the one on the NeXlim 2 clicks into three levels.

The Pro 3 comes in 15 colours and the NeXlim 2 in 9, with leather finishes in both ranges.

NeXlim vs Xlim Pro 3

The original OXVA NeXlim is a 40W dual mesh kit like the NeXlim 2, with a 1500mAh battery, 5V/2A charging and the UNITECH 2.0 cartridge. Against the Pro 3 the battery and charging are level, so the choice comes down to power and pods.

NeXlim 2 vs Xlim 3 Ultra

The OXVA Xlim 3 Ultra takes the same Xlim pods as the Pro 3 and has a full touchscreen in place of the button screen. Against the NeXlim 2 the pod question is the same: Xlim pods for the Ultra, NeXlim pods for the NeXlim 2.

Xlim Pro 3 or NeXlim 2: Which Should You Buy

• Buy the Xlim Pro 3 for a tight MTL draw, a smaller kit and the bigger screen, or if you already own Xlim top fill or EZ pods.
• Buy the NeXlim 2 for more power, the bigger battery and faster charging, or if you already own NeXlim pods.
• Upgrading from an original NeXlim: the NeXlim 2, and your pods carry over.
