The History of OXVA and the Xlim Line
OXVA began their journey in the November of 2019. Amid the struggles of the pandemic, they came out the other side stronger than ever thanks to the unwavering leadership of CEO Justin Lai, who incidentally was a co-founder of Geekvape , and by sticking to their commitment to reliability, power and passion.
Their first device, a pod mod called the ORIGIN, successfully released in 2020. After that came the versatile Xlim range, and in 2021 the original Xlim pod kit celebrated 2 million sales. 2023 saw OXVA take home 5+ industry awards for their impressive OXVA Xlim Pro pod kit , further cementing their place at the top of the vaping industry.
Moving into 2024, OXVA has released several new products, all to critical acclaim, and there’s still much more to come…
OXVA’s flagship line, the Xlim, has been praised for its continued innovation, incredible flavour production, battery and pod life, design and ease of use. Their first product, the Xlim Pod kit, took just a year to reach 2 million sales thanks to its phenomenal design and features. The Xlim Pro and Pro 2 devices improved on this with better screens, bigger batteries and larger power output, with both devices winning multiple industry awards for their innovation.
OXVA has continued to develop the Xlim lineup over the years, with the likes of the Xlim SE, SE 2 and Xlim GO designed for a simplified and streamlined experience, and the Xlim SQ and SQ Pro developed in a smaller, more compact form factor without compromising on power.
Recognising the success of the original Xlim and the Xlim SE, OXVA have produced Classic editions of both that come with enhanced features and premium designs to celebrate these beloved products.
Accompanying the Xlim line from its inception right up to the current devices are the Xlim replacement pods. The Xlim V2 pod has been praised for its great flavour production and side fill system, but the Xlim V3 pod took it up a notch with new coil technology, extra leak-proofing, a fourth resistance option and a full transparent pod for easy e-liquid level management.
The biggest problem, however, was that these pods only came in a 2 ml option. OXVA listened to this criticism, and have now released the OXVA Xlim EZ replacement pods with XL capacity for more vape juice and longer sessions between refills. Better than ever before, they have extended coil longevity and a completely redesigned anti-leak system for better performance all around.
The best bit about these pods, and the reason they’re so well loved, is that all the pods - the V2, V3 and EZ - are fully cross compatible with all Xlim devices (except the Xlim C). So no matter what you have, be it a Pro, SQ or GO, any OXVA Xlim pod you have will fit in it, making for an extremely accessible range of pod kits.
Xlim Devices
OXVA has truly lent into the Xlim line and has successfully built a robust ecosystem surrounding it. Each device brings something unique to the table, so I think it's about time we took a deeper look at them.
Xlim + Xlim Classic Edition
The OG Xlim device, it comes with the revolutionary V2 pods for extreme flavour development and is packed with features such as a 0.42” mini OLED display, auto and manual firing options, and a 900mAh battery for all day vaping. It took the vaping world by storm and was so popular it managed to sell over 2 million units ust a year after its release.
Recently OXVA honoured the kit that started it all for them by bringing out the Xlim Classic. This revamped model has all the features that made the original a hit, but upgraded in the best way, like a bigger battery, inclusion of two V3 pods and a commemorative lanyard to mark the celebration.
As first pod kits go, I really believe the Xlim deserves all the love it gets. Sure, it’s old now by vape standards, but it’s still a solid kit that’ll get you through the day, and the new Classic edition makes it even better. I love the little extra touches like exclusive designs and colours, and the commemorative lanyard is just lovely. Who doesn’t love a cool lanyard?

Xlim Pro + Pro 2
The Xlim Pro is where OXVA kicked things up a notch. With more power and a better screen over the Xlim, and the inclusion of the V3 pods, it's an all round better package, so much so that in 2023 it took home over five different industry awards, including the Vape Expo Spain 2023 Best Pod, the Versed Vapes Best Vapes for Nic Salts, and the London Design Awards Gold Award.
The Pro 2 took things even further, with an all new HD screen with revamped UI, a more powerful battery than ever before and a new ergonomic design for a more comfortable experience.
The fact that OXVA reports that the Xlim Pro has over 1 millions sales per month on record is a testament to the love the community has for it. They both feel like natural upgrades to the Xlim and really set the trajectory of the series in the coming years.

Xlim SQ + SQ Pro
OXVA threw us a curveball with these next two products. I imagine their thought process was “ What if we did the Xlim and Xlim Pro… but smaller?” You can think of the Xlim SQ as just a square version of the original Xlim. This new form factor packed all the power and cross pod compatibility of the OG Xlim into a device that measures 14mm×47mm×68.5mm, which is quite incredible actually.
But then they took it one step further and brought out the Xlim SQ Pro which, somehow, fit a 1200mAh battery into the same tiny form factor, and they even managed to add a 0.96” TFT screen with dynamic themes.
I think the fact that OXVA even managed to build such a tiny powerhouse is incredible. It's such a beautiful and comfortable device to hold, and looks especially good in Gun Metal Wood. Is this my favourite pod kit out of the lot? Yeah, I’d say it is. Although I am a sucker for dinky gadgets, so that’s probably swayed me.

Xlim SE + SE 2+ SE Classic Edition
The Xlim SE line is another beloved collection that strips away any unnecessary clutter for an extremely streamlined experience. The SE keeps key features like air flow control and solid battery, but introduces a simple auto-coil detection feature that automatically changes the wattage depending on what resistance pod you’re using at the time.
The Xlim SE 2 simplifies things further, with a brand new voice broadcasting system. This feature allows the device to give you real time vaping information updates, and makes it an extremely accessible option, especially for vapers with disabilities
Like the Xlim Classic, the SE Classic celebrates all that was great with the SE and makes it better with exclusive colours and designs and another commemorative lanyard. OXVA loves their lanyards, don’t they?
The whole SE line is a true testament to the old adage “Less is more”. It strips it back to what a vape should be - simple and easy to use, with functions to enhance the experience like the auto-coil detection and voice broadcasting system, rather than just being there for the sake of it.
Pros and Cons
Pros |
Cons |
Straightforward and easy to use |
Some vapers may find them too simplified |
Slim and sleek design |
|
Voice broadcasting system enhances accessibility (SE 2) |
|
Cross compatible with all Xlim pods |
Xlim GO
The Xlim GO feels like a more luxurious version of the SE line. Its most notable difference is the designer-style leather casing it comes in, with OXVA’s new skin-pasting tech which makes the device much more comfortable to hold. Other than that it’s very similar in function to the SE 2, just without the voice broadcasting technology.
It’s nice to see OXVA providing a more luxurious option when it comes to design, especially since up to this point all the devices have featured some sort of metallic composition. Not a lot has changed when compared to the SE line, but it’s nice to see that they’ve added a new option to the fold.
Pros and Cons
Pros |
Cons |
Leather finish and skin pasting tech make it lovely to hold |
Almost exactly the same as the SE 2, just with a different finish and no voice broadcasting |
Just as straightforward to use as the SE line |
|
Cross compatible with all Xlim pods |
Xlim C
This one is a bit of an odd ball for the Xlim line. It functions almost exactly like the original Xlim or Xlim SE, but the difference here is with the pod it comes with. In the box you’ll find an empty Xlim pod, and two replaceable coils in 0.6 Ohm and 0.8 Ohm resistances. Extra coils can be bought separately in packs of five, and it makes for the only Xlim model that isn’t compatible with the Xlim V2, V3 and EZ pod range.
I’m conflicted with this one. I love the idea of a replaceable coil, as it appeals more to the DIY vaper and reduces waste, but on the other hand it alienates itself from using some of the best pods on the market. I guess OXVA wanted to do something different with the Xlim line, and while it is a cool experiment, it’s designed for a very specific type of vaper.
Pros and Cons
Pros |
Cons |
Unique empty pod design with replaceable coils |
Is not compatible with any of the Xlim line of pods |
Simple and easy to use like the Xlim SE or Go |
Not as user friendly due to coil replacement pod |
Xlim Pods
The Xlim pod line up is arguably one of the best on the market. From the V2 all the way to the new EZ pods, OXVA have made sure to continually improve upon coil longevity and flavour development, which these pods are noted for, as well as anti-leak systems and new filling methods.
Xlim V2 Replacement Pod
The first of the Xlim pod series, the side filing Xlim V2 pod blew the vaping world open with its standout flavour development. The mouthpiece is built with bacteriostatic material to reduce microbial growth, and its easy side refill port made it a dream to use. It did however have a slight issue, as some users reported that the pods leaked after some use.
OXVA really came out swinging with this pod. It was the perfect starting point for the Xlim pod series despite its leaking issue, and as you’ll see, it only gets better from here.
Pros and Cons
Pros |
Cons |
Excellent flavour production |
Only a 2ml capacity |
Easy side fill port |
Not as leak-proof as it claimed to be |
Cross compatible with all Xlim devices (except the Xlim C) |
Xlim V3 Replacement Pod
The next iteration came in the form of the Xlim V3 pod . This time, OXVA opted for a top filling port, which made filling even easier, since you didn’t even have to remove the pod from the device to do so. It features a completely transparent pod design so monitoring e-liquid levels is super easy, and they even fixed the leaking issue, yay! Of course, coil longevity and flavour production are enhanced too so you can taste every nuance of your favourite vape juice.
I think OXVA pretty much nailed this pod. With all the upgrades and improvements it went from a good pod to a great pod, but with just one flaw - still only a 2ml capacity. Third time’s the charm I guess…
Pros and Cons
Pros |
Cons |
Improved flavour development and coil longevity |
Still no XL capacity |
Fixed the leaking issue |
|
New top fill port |
|
Cross compatible with all Xlim devices (except the Xlim C) |
Xlim EZ Replacement Pod
Finally, OXVA heard your prayers, and released the Xlim EZ pod , complete with (drum roll please): XL capacity! Yes, these new Xlim pods now come in an XL option for longer vape sessions and more time between refills. They also feature a new top fill design, with a removable mouthpiece to access the port.
As you’d expect the flavour production and coil lifespan have been upgraded again and are the best they’ve ever been. The different resistances are also colour coded now so you can tell exactly what pod you have in with a quick glance.
OXVA, I’ve gotta hand it to you - these might be the best pods I’ve ever tried. The Flavor was so good I could almost have been drinking real Pink Lemonade (Elux Legend hit the spot with this one), and the new XL capacity? Exactly what I needed.
My only gripe was with the removable mouthpiece. I guess it’s more of a personal preference, but I just found it fiddly and much preferred the rubber bungs on the older models. It’s good if you manage to damage the mouthpiece, as you can just stick another one on, but each to their own!
Pros and Cons
Pros |
Cons |
XL capacity |
New top fill design is fiddly due to removable mouthpiece |
Improved flavour development and coil lifespan |
|
Extra anti-leak precautions |
To Sum Up…
OXVA has paved the way for accessible pod kits and robust vaping eco systems. No matter if you prefer power, convenience, or are looking for a fashion statement, their Xlim line of pod kits has something to suit your needs.
If I were to pick a stand out feature from the whole line, I think my choice might surprise you. It’s not the wizardry of fitting a 1200mAH battery in the tiny SQ Pro, nor is it the Xlim pod cross compatibility. It is in fact, the voice broadcasting system of the Xlim SE 2 .
While some may see a gimmick, I see potential. Imagine, for a second, that you had a visual impairment that meant checking battery levels and other information on a screen was difficult for you. The voice broadcasting system bypasses that completely and makes this device one of the most accessible I’ve ever seen. Sure, it’s not the most powerful device out there, but putting the power back into the hands of those less able is such a wonderful thing, and with a vape device no less!
When I say OXVA have designed Xlim devices for all types of vapers, I really do mean all. People from all walks of life can pick up a device and enjoy its excellent build quality, unique and helpful features and superior tasting pods.
So there you have it, The OXVA Xlim line has gone from strength to strength over the years and has built upon customer feedback to implement long awaited features, especially with their Xlim pod line. There’s a reason they're one of the top brands in the world - and this is it.
