OXVA Xlim Pro 4 Pod Kit

The OXVA Xlim Pro 4 pod kit is the next Xlim Pro after the Xlim Pro 3, a 30W kit with an 1800mAh battery, a 0.98 inch HD colour screen and OXVA's new ABT anti-burn tech. Some people call it the Xlim 4 Pro, but OXVA's own name for it is Xlim Pro 4. It sits in the OXVA Xlim range and takes every Xlim pod, so the pods you already own carry straight over.

The Xlim Pro 4 joins the other OXVA vapes we sell, from the Xlim Go to the NeXlim.

ABT is the big change. The kit reads the e-liquid level inside the cartridge, stops firing before the coil goes dry and puts a refill alert on the screen. With an ABT cartridge fitted, an empty pod no longer means a burnt hit.

It fires when you draw or when you press the button, and the airflow slider takes it from a tight mouth to lung (MTL) draw to a looser restricted direct lung (RDL) draw. It works with nic salt and freebase e-liquid.

ABT Anti-Burn Tech

ABT stands for Anti-Burn Tech. Rather than watching the coil temperature, the Xlim Pro 4 reads the e-liquid level inside the cartridge. When it senses low or no e-liquid, it stops firing and shows a refill alert, so the coil is not fired dry. OXVA say this also means less pod waste. ABT needs an XLIM ABT cartridge fitted, and the kit comes with two.

1800mAh Battery and 3A Charging

The battery is 1800mAh, up from 1500mAh on the Xlim Pro 3, and it charges by Type-C at 5V/3A. OXVA say a full charge takes about 40 minutes with a 5V/3A adapter and cable, and they rate 10 minutes on the charger as a quick boost. While it charges, the screen counts down the time left until it is full.

HD Screen and ECO Mode

The 0.98 inch HD colour screen shows your battery, wattage, puff count and charging status in one view, and you can pick from 4 themes, 3 vaping animations and 3 lighting effects. When the battery is low, one tap puts the kit in ECO mode, which turns the screen power down so the charge lasts longer.

How to Use the OXVA Xlim Pro 4

To use the OXVA Xlim Pro 4, fill the ABT cartridge from the top, wait 30 seconds, then draw or press the button to vape. These steps follow OXVA's own guidance:

1. Fill the fitted cartridge through its top fill port with nic salt or freebase e-liquid, then close the port.
2. Wait 30 seconds so the UNITECH 3.0 coil soaks through before the first puff.
3. Set the airflow with the vertical slider, closed for a tight MTL draw or open for a looser RDL draw.
4. Draw to vape, or press the button if you would rather fire it by hand.
5. If the screen shows a refill alert, top up the cartridge. ABT has stopped the kit firing because the e-liquid is low.

How to Turn ABT On or Off

To turn ABT on or off on the OXVA Xlim Pro 4, fit an ABT cartridge and press the button 8 times in a row. OXVA warn that with ABT off, dry hits can happen when the e-liquid gets low, so we would leave it on.

Xlim Pro 4 Pods and Wattage

The Xlim Pro 4 comes with a 0.6 ohm and a 0.8 ohm XLIM ABT cartridge, with the 0.6 ohm fitted. OXVA say it takes every Xlim cartridge:

• XLIM ABT cartridges, UNITECH 3.0
• XLIM top fill cartridges, UNITECH 3.0
• Xlim empty cartridge
• Xlim replacement coils

Only an ABT cartridge turns on the anti-burn protection. You can tell one apart by the four contact points on the base, the ABT marking underneath and the red silicone ring at the mouthpiece. A standard Xlim cartridge still works in the Pro 4, just without ABT.

OXVA give the same wattage chart for the ABT cartridge and the standard UNITECH 3.0 top fill, and each cartridge has its resistance and wattage printed on the base. Set the wattage to match the pod:

Spare Xlim ABT pods come in packs of three in all four resistances, so you keep ABT working.

Is 0.8 or 0.6 Better for the Xlim Pro 4?

Pick the 0.8 ohm for a tight MTL draw like a cigarette, at 12 to 16W with nic salts. Pick the 0.6 ohm, the one fitted in the box, for a looser RDL or MTL draw at 20 to 25W.

How Long Does an Xlim Pro 4 Pod Last?

OXVA say an XLIM ABT cartridge typically lasts 2 to 3 weeks, depending on how much you vape, your e-liquid and your wattage. Replace it when the flavour turns weak, sour or slightly burnt, even with e-liquid still in the pod.

Because ABT stops the kit firing before a dry hit, the coil is not burnt by an empty pod, which is where OXVA's claim of less pod waste comes from. For the battery, OXVA say it depends on your wattage, the coil and how you vape, and do not give a figure in days.

On paper the Pro 4 screen is a little smaller than the Pro 3's, and the kit is taller and heavier. What you gain is ABT, a bigger battery and faster charging.

Xlim Pro 4 vs Xlim 4

The OXVA Xlim 4 takes the same pods but has three set power levels and a ring light, where the Pro 4 has adjustable wattage from 5 to 30W and a colour screen. Its battery is 1600mAh with 5V/2A charging.

Xlim Pro 4 ABT vs DNA

ABT and DNA both aim to stop a burnt hit, but they work in different ways. ABT reads the e-liquid level inside the cartridge and stops the output before a dry hit happens. The DNA chip in the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 DNA watches the coil temperature and steps in after an abnormal rise. OXVA also say ABT keeps the full Xlim pod range, where DNA needs specific cartridges and coil materials.
