What E-Liquid Works Best in the Vaporesso XROS Range?

In our experience, nic salts and 50/50 e-liquids suit the Vaporesso XROS range best. Vaporesso say XROS pods work with both freebase and nic salt e-liquids, and their FAQ warns that a thicker, high VG liquid can cause coil burning. In our experience, a 10mg or 20mg nic salt at around 50/50 is the easiest match, whether it is a standard nic salt, a bar salt or a dessert.

What E-Liquid or Vape Juice Can You Use in a Vaporesso XROS?

Almost any 10ml nic salt or 50/50 e-liquid can be used with an XROS vape. Vaporesso say XROS pods suit freebase and nic salt e-liquids, however, they do not give a VG/PG ratio. The table below offers our advice on the type of vape juice, the ratios and the resistances that work well together:

Does Vaporesso Make Its Own E-Liquid?

Yes, Vaporesso make their own e-liquid through their sub-brand, Dojo. If you are looking for Vaporesso liquid or Vaporesso vape juice, DojoLiq is the range to know. It is a 10ml nic salt range that Dojo describe as powered by Vaporesso and developed alongside MTL kits such as the XROS. It comes in 10mg and 20mg.

Best liquid designed with the XROS in mind: DojoLiq

DojoLiq is our pick if you want a liquid made specifically with the XROS in mind. Dojo list most flavours of their DojoLiq vape juices at 55% PG and 45% VG. Pomelo Soda is listed at 50/50 and Pineapple Ice at 60% PG and 40% VG, and a few other flavours have figures that do not add up to 100, so check the bottle.

What VG/PG Ratio Works in a Vaporesso XROS?

Vaporesso do not publish a VG/PG ratio for XROS pods. Their general advice is that a thick, high VG e-liquid can cause coil burning. In our experience, 50/50 is the sweet spot, and many 10ml nic salts and bar salts are made at or near it.

Liquids above 60% VG are best kept for sub-ohm tanks. If you prefer to mix your own strength, our 50/50 shortfills suit the lower resistance XROS pods.

Nic Salts for the Vaporesso XROS

Nic salts are the natural match for the XROS. In our experience, the smoother nicotine hit suits the MTL draw, and 10mg or 20mg gives most ex-smokers enough without harshness. Our advice is 20mg for a heavier smoker and 10mg for a lighter one.

Bar Salts for the Vaporesso XROS

Bar salts copy the flavours of popular disposables in a refillable 10ml bottle. They are nic salts, usually at 10mg or 20mg, so they go straight into an XROS pod. Check the VG/PG on the bottle: our advice is 50/50 or close to it.

If a favourite disposable flavour is what you are after, start in our bar salts range. Our advice is a 1.0 or 1.2Ω pod for a tight MTL draw like a disposable, or a 0.8Ω if you prefer RDL.

Can You Use Elux Liquid in a Vaporesso XROS?

Yes, Elux e-liquids can be used in XROS vapes. For UK customers, Elux used to offer disposables and 10ml nic salts. Whilst the disposables have been replaced in the UK with their prefilled pod kits, the Elux nic salts still stand.

XROS kits are refillable, so you can fill their pods with the Elux flavour you knew from the original disposables. The Elux nic salts on our site are listed at 50/50 VG/PG and suit the XROS pods from 0.6Ω up. The two ranges to know are Elux Legend and Firerose, both in our Elux liquid range.

Our pick for a fruity all-day vape. The Elux Legend Kiwi Passionfruit Guava nic salt is the same recipe as the Elux 3500 disposable, at 5mg, 10mg or 20mg.

Best fizzy drink flavour: Firerose Cherry Cola

For a sweeter soda profile, Firerose Cherry Cola comes in 10mg and 20mg. In our experience, both Elux picks work on a 1.0 or 1.2Ω pod for a tight MTL draw, or a 0.8Ω for RDL.

Best Desserts for the Vaporesso XROS

Dessert flavour vape juices are a standout on the XROS, and in our experience the tighter pods bring out a custard or bakery flavour best.

COREX 2.0 vs COREX 3.0: Which Pod for Flavour?

In our experience, the pod you choose changes the flavour just as much as the liquid. Vaporesso give no direct COREX 2.0 against COREX 3.0 comparison. They now describe their XROS pods as COREX 3.0, which uses a newer Hive Mesh, and say its new high temperature resistant material greatly improves the pod's lifespan, without giving a figure.

For the older COREX 2.0 pods, Vaporesso give a 30% pod lifespan figure from their own lab, without saying what it is compared with.

Our view: the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods are the sweet spot for RDL vaping, and the 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods for a tight MTL draw. Vaporesso's XROS 5 page describes the 0.6Ω pod for RDL and the 0.8Ω as versatile for both MTL and RDL.

The XROS 6, XROS 6 Mini, XROS 5, XROS 5 Mini, XROS 5 Nano and XROS Pro 2 take every XROS pod from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω. The XROS Mini Retro takes the 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω pods but not the 0.4Ω. Vaporesso give a best wattage for each pod, and the rest of the table is our advice:

On the XROS 6, XROS 5, XROS 5 Nano and XROS Pro 2, only the 0.4Ω pod takes a wattage setting. The other pods use the kit's power modes.

Which Nicotine Strength for Which XROS Pod?

In our experience, resistance and strength move in opposite directions. The lower the ohms, the more vapour each puff makes, so the less nicotine the liquid needs.

Our advice: the 0.4Ω pod suits a 50/50 liquid at a lower strength, the 0.6Ω takes 50/50 or a 10mg salt, the 0.8Ω handles 10mg and 20mg equally well, and the 1.0 and 1.2Ω pods suit 20mg salts.

The 1.2Ω pod is the one people get wrong. Its tight draw and small vapour output mean 20mg is usually the right strength there, and heavy ex-smokers who found 20mg harsh on a looser pod often get on fine with it.

If you vape RDL and want one pod for nic salts, we would say the 0.8Ω: it takes 10mg and 20mg equally well. And if you are stepping your nicotine down, every resistance takes a lower strength. Our nic salt strengths guide goes deeper.

Will an XROS Give You Enough Throat Hit?

In our experience, yes, if you line up three things:

• Strength does the most: 20mg salt gives a firm catch at the back of the throat, 10mg a softer one.
• Resistance is next, with the 1.0 and 1.2Ω pods giving the sharpest cigarette-like hit.
• Airflow finishes the job. On kits with an airflow toggle, sliding it towards tight tightens the hit further.

Best E-Liquid for the XROS 3 and XROS 4

The same advice on the best e-liquids stands for the older kits. Vaporesso say the XROS 4 is compatible with the entire XROS pod series, so a 10mg or 20mg nic salt at around 50/50 suits it just as well. Vaporesso say the XROS 3 is also compatible with all XROS pods, and that the 0.6Ω pod in its kit is designed to give a sweeter experience with freebase. Their XROS pod page lists the 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω pods for the entire XROS series but the 0.4Ω pod only for the XROS 4, XROS 4 Mini and XROS Pro, so our advice is to stick to the 0.6Ω to 1.2Ω pods on an XROS 3.

Tips to Get the Best Flavour From Your XROS Vape

• Prime a new pod. On the first fill, wait before the first puff: 5 minutes on the XROS 5, XROS 5 Mini, XROS 5 Nano and XROS Pro 2, and 1 minute on the XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini when it is 5°C or warmer, according to their manuals.
• Match the nicotine to your habit. Our advice is 20mg for heavier smokers and 10mg for lighter ones.
• Change the pod when the flavour fades or tastes burnt. In our experience that is about one to two weeks with everyday vaping.
