OXVA NeXlim 2 Review: The Owner's Verdict

I own Ecigone, I make no secret of being a fan of the OXVA vapes we sell, and the NeXlim 2 has been my daily kit since it arrived. This is my verdict after living with it, not a spec sheet. Like most honest verdicts it has a twist: I love this kit, and I still would not tell a happy NeXlim owner to rush out and replace theirs.

Is the OXVA NeXlim 2 Worth It

Yes, if you are buying a new pod kit. It is the strongest flavour and the fastest charging OXVA sells, and it is my daily kit. If you already own the first NeXlim and it works, the honest answer is that you do not need to upgrade yet.

For me the upgrade comes down to two things: the bigger battery that charges very fast, and the flavour from the new pods. The screen is a step up too.

Who Should Buy the NeXlim 2

• Buy it if you are new to OXVA, replacing a tired kit, or you want the strongest flavour and fastest charging OXVA makes.
• Keep your NeXlim if it still works and you are happy with it. Put a UNITECH 3.0 pod in it for the flavour, and buy the kit when yours gives up.
• Look at the Mini if you want something smaller and lighter on the same pods.

OXVA NeXlim 2 Pods and Flavour

The UNITECH 3.0 cartridges are the change you taste. The flavour from the new pods is much better than the old ones, and it holds deep into the pod's life rather than fading after the first few fills.

OXVA rate the dual mesh coils at double the flavour and double the coil life, and the Super Pulse chip at 200% atomisation. I cannot measure figures like those, so they are OXVA's, not mine. What I can tell you is that the difference against the old pods is real, and it is the single biggest reason this kit exists.

Which Pod to Use

The kit comes with a 0.6 ohm pod fitted and a 0.8 ohm in the box, which are the two most useful answers:

• 0.6 ohm for a warmer, airier RDL draw with more vapour, suited to lower strengths.
• 0.8 ohm for the all rounder that covers RDL and MTL. Most people should start here.
• 1.2 ohm, sold separately, for a tight MTL draw with 10mg or 20mg nic salts.

Spare NeXlim pods come in packs of three. There is no 0.4 ohm option.

How Long Should OXVA NeXlim Pods Last

OXVA rate a UNITECH 3.0 cartridge at up to 30 refills in Eco and 20 in Boost. In my use the flavour stays strong for most of that, which is not something I could say for the old pods. Sweet e-liquids wear any coil out faster.

NeXlim 2 Battery Life and Charging

The 2000mAh battery is the biggest in the NeXlim range, and OXVA say the 5V/3A USB-C charging reaches 80% in 20 minutes.

Day to day, the charging is the change you notice most after the flavour. Mine gets topped up while the kettle boils rather than sitting on a cable overnight. Eco mode stretches a charge further, and Boost warms the draw when I want it.

The Screen and Themes

The 0.85 inch colour screen shows wattage, battery, coil resistance and puff count at a glance, with no menus to dig through. The 10 themes that unlock as you vape are a novelty rather than a feature, and I would not buy the kit for them. The leather finishes feel far more expensive than they are, and at 88.5g it feels solid in the hand.

What Are the Key Differences Between the NeXlim 2 and NeXlim 1

The NeXlim 2 keeps the 40W output and dual mesh coils of the original OXVA NeXlim, and changes the battery, the charging, the cartridge and the screen themes. These are OXVA's figures:

The pods swap both ways. Old UNITECH 2.0 pods fit the NeXlim 2, and the new UNITECH 3.0 pods fit the first NeXlim, so nothing in your drawer goes to waste. It also means a NeXlim owner can try the biggest part of this upgrade, the flavour, for the price of a pod rather than a kit. That is what I would tell you over the counter, so it belongs in the review.

OXVA NeXlim 2 vs NeXlim 2 Mini

The OXVA NeXlim 2 Mini takes the same UNITECH 3.0 pods in a 59g aluminium body. It tops out at 30W on a 1500mAh battery, and OXVA rate it at up to 7 days a charge in Eco mode.

There is no screen. A 3-colour light shows the battery, and a double tap on the side button switches between Boost and Eco. OXVA do not list a USB-C cable in the Mini box, so keep a spare one handy.

Pick the NeXlim 2 for the screen, the 40W and the faster charging. Pick the Mini if size and weight matter more.

Is the OXVA Xlim Worth Buying

For MTL vapers, yes. The Xlim Pro 3 is the MTL value pick, and it takes Xlim top fill and EZ pods. The NeXlim 2 is the power, battery and flavour pick. NeXlim and Xlim pods do not swap, so the pods you already own may decide it for you.

How I Made This Call

I own and use this kit every day, I have vaped OXVA kits across generations, and I own the shop that sells it. So this is my verdict the way I would give it over the counter, including the part that talks you out of spending money with me. The specs come from OXVA, and where a claim is OXVA's rather than mine, I say so.

Every NeXlim kit is a refillable vape, so you fill the pod with your own e-liquid.

If you vape 10mg or 20mg nic salts, the 0.8 ohm pod in the box is the one to start on.
