Vaporesso Armour G2 Pod Mod Kit

The Vaporesso Armour G2 is a pod vape kit in the pod mod style: a pod system with a screen and 5W to 60W, powered by a 3400mAh battery built in. It takes GTX coils, so one device covers a mouth to lung draw and a direct to lung draw, and it charges to full in about an hour over Type-C.

It is the second Armour G, sometimes spelt Armor G2, and it joins our Vaporesso Armour range with a bigger battery, faster charging and an auto lock.

If you would rather use your own 18650 battery, the Armour GS2 is the same pod mod with a removable cell and up to 80W.

Armour G2 Battery and Charging

The Armour G2 has a 3400mAh battery, up from 3000mAh on the Armour G. Vaporesso rate its high-density cells for 67% longer cycle life, 500 charges against 300, and up to 48 hours of standby for RDL vaping. Charging is Type-C at 5V 3A or 9V 2A, and a full charge takes about an hour.

AXON 3.0 Chip and Pulse Mode

The AXON 3.0 chip powers Pulse Mode, which keeps the power output steady as the battery drains. Vaporesso say the flavour holds from the first puff to the last, even at 20% battery. The 0.96 inch screen has three themes on the Armour G2: Classic, Dream and Motor.

Armour G2 Coil Compatibility and Pods

The Armour G2 takes the Armour G series pods in an MTL and a DTL version. They are the same pods the Armour G, GS and GS2 use.

The 0.15 ohm GTX coils fit the DTL pod but are not compatible with the Armour G2, because they need more than its 60W.

Vaporesso rate the dual mesh coils for 50% longer coil life and 32% more intense flavour, with nic salt or freebase e-liquid. Spare Vaporesso GTX coils come in packs of five.

Armour G2 MTL or DTL

The pod you fit decides how the Armour G2 draws:

• MTL: slim drip tip and restricted airflow, for a tighter draw and a stronger throat hit. Use the MTL pod with a 0.6, 0.8 or 1.2 ohm coil.
• DTL: wide drip tip and open airflow, for a smoother draw and bigger clouds. Use the DTL pod with a 0.2 to 0.4 ohm coil.

On the MTL pod, nic salt vape juice at 10mg or 20mg suits the tighter draw.

On the DTL pod, a shortfill at 3mg or 6mg suits the lower resistance coils.

Quadra Leakproof

Vaporesso call the pod design Quadra Leakproof. Top airflow keeps the air slots away from the e-liquid, top filling means the base never opens, and SSS 2.0 is their e-liquid lock inside the pod.

How to Use the Armour G2

Setting up the Armour G2 takes five steps:

1. Pick the MTL or DTL pod and push a GTX coil into the base.
2. Fill the pod through the top fill port and close it.
3. Leave a new coil to soak for five minutes before the first puff.
4. Set the wattage to suit the coil, within 5W to 60W.
5. Use the button lock to stop the wattage changing in a pocket.

The Armour G2 also locks itself: the auto lock cuts the output after 3 minutes without use, so it cannot fire by accident.
