What is an RTA Tank?

RTA stands for Rebuildable Tank Atomiser - sometimes called an RTA atomiser or just a rebuildable. Instead of buying pre-built coils, you install your own wire and cotton on a build deck inside the tank. The tank section sits above the deck and feeds liquid down to the wicks through juice ports - so you get the flavour of building without having to drip every few puffs like you would with an RDA.

RTA vape tanks come in single coil and dual coil layouts. Single coil RTAs are simpler to build on and tend to give cleaner flavour. Dual coil RTAs run warmer and produce more vapour but use more liquid and battery. Mesh RTAs are a newer option - easier to wick than wire coils and a good starting point for anyone moving into rebuildables for the first time.

Tank RTA sizes range from 22mm up to 40mm. Smaller RTAs suit single-battery mods and keep things compact. Larger decks give you more room to build and hold more cotton, which usually means longer between refills.

What is an RTA tank?

Are RTA tanks hard to build on?
