The JUUL 2 is a closed pod system carrying a 350mAh battery in a slim 97 x 11 x 7 mm shell that weighs just 14g. There is nothing to press and nothing to set: it is draw activated, so you inhale and a small LED reports on the battery in place of a screen. Finished in Slate Grey, it takes prefilled JUUL 2 pods only and sits among the simplest of our vape kits to live with.

One thing to know before you buy. This device has no charging port on it at all. It charges only on a separate magnetic dock that plugs into a USB power source, and that dock is supplied in this kit. Very few UK listings state that plainly, so we will: without the dock there is no way to put charge back into the battery.

How the JUUL 2 charges

The dock grips the base of the device on magnetic contacts and draws power over USB from a laptop, a mains adapter or a power bank. Since the body itself has no socket, that little dock is the single route to a charged battery.

For that reason a second dock is worth owning. Keep one at your desk and one at home and you are never caught out because the first was left in a coat pocket.

Which pods fit

JUUL 2 pods, and nothing else. Pods from the original JUUL will not seat in this device, and JUUL 2 pods will not run in an original JUUL either, so the two generations never cross over.
