What is a Boro Tank / RBA?

Boro tanks first appeared in the Billet Box mod, an American-made AIO device that gained a cult following since its 2012 release. The idea of combining a tank and mod into one system has since become mainstream. While most Boro tanks are designed for rebuildables, some use stock sub-ohm coils for a simpler setup.

RBAs (Rebuildable Atomisers) form the rebuildable section of an AIO, much like RDAs and RTAs. Most RBA decks are single-coil, though mesh coil options are available. A Boro tank on its own is an empty e-liquid reservoir, but when paired with an RBA deck, it becomes a customisable rebuildable system. While many Boro tanks come with matching RBA sections, others are designed to be compatible with a variety of AIO devices.

Who are Boro Tanks for?

Boro tanks are built for experienced vapers who prefer a little more customisation over their setup. Designed for Boro-compatible mods, they support both rebuildable atomisers (RBAs) and pre-made coils, offering flexibility for those who enjoy fine-tuning their vape.

With MTL and DTL compatibility, users can adjust airflow, coil type, and e-liquid selection by swapping bridges or atomisers. Made from borosilicate glass, stainless steel, or high-grade plastics, they are durable, resistant to cracking, and handle acidic e-liquids well.

A go-to choice for AIO mod users and rebuildable enthusiasts, Boro tanks deliver a customisable, high-performance vape tailored to individual preferences.

What is an RBA tank?

RBA stands for Rebuildable Atomiser. It’s a tank in which you build and install your own coils instead of using pre-made ones.

What’s a Boro tank?

A Boro tank is a compact rebuildable tank designed to fit inside Boro-compatible devices. It was initially popularised by the Billet Box.

Are RBAs difficult to use?

They can feel a bit tricky at first, especially if you’ve never built your own coils before – but with a bit of trial and error, most people pick it up quickly and find it straightforward.

What’s the advantage of using an RBA or Boro tank?

They let you build exactly how you like, which can save money over time and give you more control over how your vape performs.

Can I use ready-made coils in an RBA tank?

Yes. you can buy ready-made coils and install them yourself, which is an excellent option if you’re not into wrapping your own.

Do Boro tanks leak?

They can, especially if overfilled or wicked poorly, but most modern Boro tanks are well-designed to minimise leaking with the correct setup.

What type of e-liquid works best in a Boro or RBA setup?

That depends on your build – most setups handle both 50/50 and high-VG liquids well, as long as the wicking matches the viscosity.

Is maintenance more complicated with RBA and Boro tanks?

They do take more upkeep than standard tanks, but once you’re used to rebuilding and cleaning, it becomes part of the routine.
