Vaporesso Luxe X Replacement Pods

These Luxe X pods are the ready-to-use pods for the Vaporesso Luxe X family. The coil is sealed inside the pod, so there is nothing to fit and nothing to swap: you pick the resistance when you order and replace the whole pod when it is done. Two replacement pods to a pack.

Vaporesso build the Luxe X pods on COREX, which is their name for the heating technology inside. Their own description of it is the Morph-Mesh structure with Cumulus cotton, and the published figures for it are 30% aroma reproduction and 15% vapour production.

Six options are currently made: the dual mesh pods in 0.4 and 0.6 ohm, and the COREX version in 0.3, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 ohm. Which one to pick depends on the draw you want, and the list of kits these fit is wider than most people expect.

Dual Mesh vs. COREX pods

Both are Vaporesso's, both fit the same vape kits, and the pod shell is identical. The difference is the coil sealed inside each pod.

The dual mesh is the one the Luxe X launched on, built with two layers of mesh. It gives a warmer, denser vape, and people who have settled on a flavour they like tend to stay with it.

The COREX version is the newer coil in the same pod. Vaporesso describe it as the Morph-Mesh structure with Cumulus cotton, and it is the one in the widest choice of resistances, from 0.3 ohm through to 0.8 ohm.

Which Resistance to Pick, and the Wattage for Each

The wattage column is Vaporesso's own published figure for each replacement Luxe X pod. They publish nothing for the 0.3 ohm or for the dual mesh pods, so nothing is quoted for those: on a Luxe X kit the wattage is set to suit the pod automatically.

The 0.6 ohm is the middle of the range and the one most people buy for nic salts. Go up to 0.8 ohm for a tighter draw and a longer-lasting pod, down to 0.4 or 0.3 ohm for more vapour on a kit that can drive it.

Vaporesso Luxe X Pod Compatibility

The Luxe X pods are compatible with more than just the Luxe X3 vape, which is the part worth knowing. Vaporesso list the Luxe X pod as fitting the Luxe X, the Luxe X2, the Luxe X3 and the Luxe X Pro.

They also fit the Luxe XR, the Luxe XR Max and the Luxe XR Max 2. Vaporesso state it on the XR Max 2 page in as many words: it takes all Luxe X pods as well as the empty Luxe XR pods.

One caveat on the Luxe X3, from Vaporesso's own compatibility table: they steer 0.8 ohm mouth to lung users on that kit to the 0.6 ohm instead. Everything else in the range fits as listed.

Filling a Luxe X Pod

To fill a Luxe X pod, pull the silicone plug out, fill through the hole and press the plug firmly back in. There is a plug rather than a hinged flap, and Vaporesso set it out in five steps.

1. Take the pod off the battery.
2. Pull the silicone plug out. On the COREX mesh pods it sits in the base, and on the dual mesh pods Vaporesso describe it on the side.
3. Fill through the hole, up to the line rather than past it.
4. Press the plug firmly back in.
5. Stand the pod a few minutes before the first draw so the e-liquid soaks into the coil.

How Often to Replace a Pod

Vaporesso's own listing puts a Luxe X pod at six to eight refills before the flavour drops off, and at one to two weeks for a daily vaper. A two-pack covers two to four weeks at that rate before a replacement pack of pods is needed.

The signs a Luxe X pod needs replacing:

• A burnt or flat taste.
• Weaker vapour than the pod gave when it was new.
• The coil darkening where you can see it through the pod.

Sweet dessert flavours caramelise on the mesh and shorten pod life, so those go sooner than fruit or menthol.
