Armour OCTA 220W Kit with iTank T

The Armour OCTA Kit pairs the 220W OCTA mod with the iTank T tank. It is the rugged end of the Armour range, built for people who take a mod outside rather than leave it on a desk.

Two 18650 cells power it and they are sold separately. Both GTi dual mesh coils come in the box at 0.2 and 0.4 ohm.

The OCTA name is Vaporesso counting eight protections. Four cover the outside world and four are electrical.

The Eight Protections

Vaporesso set them out in one panel. Four are about surviving water, dust and drops, and four are about what happens inside the mod.

Its worth reading the small print on all of it, as Vaporesso state the certifications were tested on the mod alone.

Water, at Two Levels

IPX8 covers immersion. Vaporesso rate it to a metre for thirty minutes or more, which covers a drop in a sink or a puddle rather than a swim.

IPX9K is the harder one. It covers high pressure jets at 100 bar and hot water to 85C.

That is a wash down rating rather than a marketing line. It means you can put it under a tap and scrub it.

Dust and Drops

IP6X is dust tight, the top level of the dust scale. There is no lower grade above it, so nothing gets in at all.

The drop rating is tested to MIL-STD-810H at 1.2m across 26 angles. A scratch resistant coating and TPU material carry the rest of it.

Battery Guard

Mixing old and new cells is the usual mistake with a dual battery mod. Vaporesso watch the gap between the two.

Past a 0.9V difference, the Armour OCTA kit cuts output rather than firing. Use a matched pair of 18650 batteries from the same batch and charge them together.

Charging and Overtime

Charging is Type-C at 5V 2.5A. If it reaches 75C while charging, it stops.

Overtime 2.0 handles the button. Hold it past 10 seconds and it cuts out, and a second trigger inside two minutes powers the mod down.

That covers a button pressed in a pocket, which is where most accidental firing happens.

The Details

A cage structure wraps the tank rather than leaving it exposed, and a TPU cover sits over the glass. The charge port has a silicone plug and the base has an anti collision pad.

The 0.96 inch screen locks with a swipe rather than a button sequence. If you want the mod without the tank, we sell the Armour OCTA mod separately.

Coils, Chipset and Tank

Vaporesso build the kit around three things.

1. The GTi dual mesh coil
2. The AXON 3.0 chipset
3. The iTank T.

The GTi coil uses aerospace grade CF cotton, which handles heat better at sustained high wattage. Vaporesso put the gain at 30 percent longer life than a standard coil, tested in their own lab.

AXON 3.0 is the chipset, and Boost Mode is the part you will notice. It holds power output steady through a longer draw rather than tailing off.

The iTank T carries widened top airflow on both sides. It gives a smoother draw at higher wattage and it is quieter than the older tanks.

Which Coils Fit

The 0.2 ohm dual mesh comes pre-installed and a 0.4 ohm dual mesh sits in the box. Beyond those two, the tank takes the whole GTi platform.

We stock every one of them, so nothing here is a special order.

Spares sit with the GTi replacement coils. All of them suit 70VG shortfill rather than nic salt.

Colours

Six finishes are made, with the same cage and grip treatment across all of them.

Aero White, Dark Black, Rally Blue, Rust Bronze, Titanium Grey and Vintage Green. Each is stocked as its own variant, and it sits with the rest of our vape kits.
