Vaporesso Armour OCTA Kit

The Vaporesso Armour OCTA kit pairs the 220W Armour OCTA mod with the iTank T. The Armour OCTA is the rugged end of the Armour vape range, built for people who take a mod outside rather than leave it on a desk.

Two 18650 cells power the Armour OCTA and they are sold separately. Two GTi dual mesh coils come in the box, 0.2 ohm fitted and 0.4 ohm spare.

Vaporesso sum up the Armour OCTA as eight ways to stay armoured: four proofs on the outside, two battery guards and two everyday protections.

The Eight Protections

Vaporesso set them out in one panel. Four are proofs against water, water jets, dust and drops. Two make up the Battery Guard: voltage surge protection and charging overheat protection. The last two are Overtime 2.0 and TPU protection over the tank and the charging port.

Vaporesso state that all certifications and tests apply to the mod only, under standardised third-party lab conditions.

Water, at Two Levels

IPX8 covers immersion. Vaporesso rate the Armour OCTA to 1m for 30 minutes or more.

IPX9K covers high-pressure water jets at 100 bar and hot water to 85C.

Dust and Drops

IP6X is dust-tight, which Vaporesso describe as the top level of dust protection.

The drop rating is 1.2m across 26 angles, backed by a scratch-resistant coating and TPU material.

Battery Guard

Mixing old and new cells is a common mistake with a dual battery mod. The Armour OCTA cuts output rather than firing if the voltage difference between the two cells goes past 0.9V. Use a matched pair of 18650 batteries and charge them together.

Charging and Overtime

Charging is Type-C at DC 5V/2.5A. If the Armour OCTA passes 75C while charging, it stops charging.

Overtime 2.0 guards against an accidental long press. Hold the fire button past 10 seconds and output cuts off. A second overtime within two minutes powers the Armour OCTA down.

The Details

A cage structure guards the Armour OCTA and a TPU cover sits over the tank. The charging port has a silicone plug, the base has an anti-collision pad, and the 0.96-inch screen locks and unlocks with one swipe.

Coils, Chip and Tank

The GTi coil uses aerospace-grade CF cotton, which Vaporesso say resists burnt hits at sustained high power. Vaporesso rate it at 30 percent longer life than standard coils, from their own lab testing.

AXON 3.0 brings an upgraded Boost mode, which Vaporesso say makes continuous power output steadier for consistent flavour.

The iTank T has dual widened top airflow. Vaporesso say it gives a smoother draw, more air intake and a quieter puff.

Which Coils Fit the iTank T

The 0.2 ohm dual mesh comes pre-installed and a 0.4 ohm dual mesh is in the box. Vaporesso state the iTank T is compatible with the whole GTi coil platform. GTX coils do not fit.
