Vaporesso GTi Replacement Coils

GTi is the sub-ohm coil platform for Vaporesso's iTank range. Every resistance sits under 1 ohm, so these are lung and restricted lung coils on higher VG e-liquid, with no mouth to lung option in the family. Five GTi coils are included in each pack.

The coil pushes into the base of the tank and pulls straight out, so a change takes seconds. Which resistance to pick depends on the draw you want.

Vaporesso build GTi on their COREX heating technology, with what they call the Morph-Mesh structure and COREX cotton. Vaporesso split their vape coils across two platforms, GTi and GTX, and the two do not swap over in either direction.

More than most people think, because GTi replacement coils cover the whole iTank range rather than a single kit.

If your Vaporesso takes an iTank, it takes GTi. If it takes an XROS pod, a GTX pod or an xTank, you need GTX or COREX coils instead.

Which Resistance to Pick

These are Vaporesso's published wattages, both the range and the figure they mark as best.

The 0.2 ohm GTi is the everyday choice in the range and the one most people buy. The 0.15 ohm is the warmest and thirstiest, best on a max VG shortfill. The 0.5 ohm is the coolest and the most forgiving, and it lasts longest between changes.

Mesh vs. Dual Mesh Coils

Two of the resistances come both ways. Vaporesso describe the dual mesh as a dual-layer mesh structure, and say it extends coil life by 30% from their own lab testing, though they do not name what that is measured against.

At the same resistance and the same wattage, the dual mesh gives more vapour. Pick it if you want more cloud without dropping the resistance.

GTi or GTX: Which Do You Need

This is the question worth getting right before you order, because the two coil types do not swap over and Vaporesso say so outright.

If your kit takes a pod rather than a tank, you want a GTX coil. Neither platform fits the XROS kits, which use a pod with the coil sealed inside and no coil to replace at all.

How Long a GTi Coil Lasts

Vaporesso do not give a coil life in refills or days for GTi coils. In our experience, a GTi coil lasts about one to two weeks for a daily lung vaper, and less on very sweet e-liquid.

The signs a GTi coil is done:

• A burnt or flat taste.
• Thinner vapour than the coil gave when it was new.

Sweet dessert flavours caramelise on the mesh and shorten coil life, so those go sooner than fruit or menthol. Priming a new coil and letting it soak for five minutes before the first draw is what gets the most out of it.
