SKE Bar 15k Review: The 12ml Truth About Big Puff Vapes

One pod. Weeks of vaping. Count every puff.
The SKE Bar 15k is worth buying for one specific reason that no rival at its price matches: a live puff counter on the screen, so you always know exactly how much of the pod is left. But before you compare it against any other big-puff kit, there is one number that matters more than the puff count, and it is printed in small type on every box: the millilitres.
This review judges the SKE Bar 15k the way we think every prefilled kit should be judged, on the liquid you are actually buying, and compares it honestly with the two other 12ml heavyweights in the UK market, the Hayati Pro Max Plus 6000 and the Lost Mary Nera 15k. The flavour ranking is our real sales data, as one of the UK's biggest online vape shops.
The short verdict
Buy the SKE Bar 15k if you want one flavour that lasts for weeks, the reassurance of a screen that shows both battery and puffs used, and the crystal-clear tank the SKE name was built on. All three big 12ml kits cost the same and carry the same liquid, so the choice comes down to the screen, the modes and the flavour range, and we break that down below.
|
What we judged |
How the SKE Bar 15k did |
|
Screen and puff counter |
The best at this price. Battery percentage and a live puff count together, which neither the Hayati nor the Nera offers |
|
Liquid for your money |
12ml per £5.99 pod, about 50p per ml, level with its two big rivals |
|
Flavour range |
16 Crystal Bar flavours, against 55 for the Hayati and over 20 for the Nera |
|
Battery |
850mAh, USB-C in 60 to 90 minutes, level with the Hayati and slightly ahead of the Nera |
|
Simplicity |
Click the two-piece pod in and inhale, nothing to fill and no settings |
|
Vape tax exposure |
High, and we say so honestly below. Every 12ml pod picks up around £3.17 of duty from 1 October |
Forget the puff count, read the millilitres
Here is the thing the puff numbers do not tell you. The SKE Bar 15k carries 12ml of 20mg nic salt. The Hayati Pro Max Plus 6000 carries 12ml of 20mg nic salt. The Lost Mary Nera 15k carries 12ml of 20mg nic salt. The same liquid, in the same two-piece pod design, at the same £5.99 a refill, yet one box says 6,000 puffs and the others say 15,000. Both cannot be measuring the same puff.
Printed counts are approximate ratings that depend entirely on how a machine, or a marketing department, defines a draw, and your own draw length and style decide what you really get. Lost Mary even rates its own two 12ml formats differently, with the BM6000 refill pack at 6,000 and the Nera 15k at 15,000, which tells you how elastic these numbers are even inside one brand.
So our rule, and the honest way to shop this category: compare kits on millilitres and price, then choose on features and flavour. On that measure all three big kits are dead level, and the puff war between them is noise.
What the SKE Bar 15k actually is
The SKE Bar 15k is a rechargeable prefilled pod kit, not a disposable. Each pod is a two-piece unit: a 2ml chamber that you vape from, fed automatically by a 10ml container clipped behind it, which is how it carries 12ml of 20mg nic salt within the UK's TPD rules. The battery is 850mAh, recharged over USB-C in 60 to 90 minutes, and the whole thing is inhale-activated with a fixed MTL draw.
There are no buttons, no modes and no menus. When the liquid is gone you click in a fresh pod from the SKE Bar 15k pods range at £5.99, and the mesh coil comes built into every pod, so the flavour resets with each change.

The puff counter and the crystal tank decide it
Every big-capacity kit claims a puff number. The SKE Bar 15k is the only one of the three that shows you yours. The LED screen displays the battery percentage and a live count of the puffs you have taken, side by side. That sounds like a gimmick until you have lived with a big pod that simply dies one afternoon with no warning.
With the counter you can see a pod entering its final stretch days ahead, order the next one in time, and learn your own real rate rather than trusting the number on the box, which fits exactly with the millilitre rule above.
The Nera 15k has a lovely curved display, but it shows battery only, and the Hayati makes do with a simple LED level. Neither counts your puffs.
There is a second way the SKE lets you see where you stand, and it is the thing that built the brand in the first place: the crystal look. The see-through design is what made the original SKE Crystal Bar the disposable everyone remembers, and the 15k keeps the family trait with a transparent tank that shows the liquid level at a glance.
The Nera 15k's Fullview styling answers with a visible liquid level of its own, and credit where it is due, but pair the clear tank with the live counter and the SKE is the only kit of the three where nothing is left to guesswork. For anyone who likes to know exactly where they stand, this is the feature set that decides it.

The Vaping Products Duty arriving on 1 October 2026 is charged per millilitre of liquid, which means the big 12ml formats carry the biggest increases. Every 12ml pod picks up around £3.17 of duty including VAT, taking a £5.99 refill to just over £9, and the same applies to the Hayati and Nera refills, so the three-way tie on price survives the tax.
We do not pretend to love the duty, and per millilitre these kits remain among the cheapest ways to vape, but the jump at the checkout will be real, and stocking up before October is the rational move. Our UK vape tax guide runs the numbers for every format.

The honest read of that table: choose the SKE Bar 15k for the puff counter, the clear tank and the Crystal Bar taste. Choose the Hayati Pro Max Plus 6000 for the biggest flavour range in the category by a mile, all 55 ranked in our Hayati flavours guide. Choose the Nera 15k for Turbo mode and the Lost Mary flavour family.
None of the three is a wrong answer, because the liquid and the price are identical. Our heavy smokers guide covers where the whole capacity tier fits for heavier use.
The Nera has now had the same full-verdict treatment as this kit, and our Lost Mary Nera review scores both the 15K and the 30K formats.
What if you want flavour variety instead?
One format the 12ml giants cannot match is flavour switching. The IVG 2400 4-in-1 holds four sealed 2ml pods in one body and swaps between four flavours with a twist of the base, and Elf Bar's Plus family splits its capacity across three separate pods per box. You carry less liquid per pound than the 12ml kits, and that is the trade: variety against capacity. If you have one flavour you stick with, the SKE lasts weeks where the variety kits last days.

How to set up the SKE Bar 15k
Setup takes under a minute. Charge the kit over USB-C, peel the sticker from the pod, click the two-piece pod into the body, wait a couple of minutes for the coil to soak, then inhale to vape.
One thing worth being straight about, because the searches show people asking: the SKE Bar 15k does not refill from a bottle. When the liquid is gone, the whole two-piece pod comes off and a fresh one clicks in, coil included. That is the design, not a flaw, and it is why the flavour stays clean from the first pod to the tenth.
How we made this call
This review is built from what we can actually measure. The flavour ranking is our own sales and reorder data across the SKE Bar 15k pod range, not a sponsored list.
The comparison sections use the specifications of the kits as we sell them, checked against the products on our own shelves and against how each manufacturer describes its own display. The running costs use our live prices and the confirmed duty rate of £2.20 per 10ml plus VAT that arrives on 1 October 2026.
Where a number is a manufacturer rating rather than a measurement, such as puff counts, we say so, and we judge on millilitres instead.
One pod. Weeks of vaping. Count every puff.
