Are Lost Mary Vapes Banned? What Changed and What Is Still Legal

Lost Mary disposable vapes were banned in the UK on 1 June 2025, along with every other single-use vape. The brand itself is not banned: rechargeable Lost Mary vapes that take replacement pods are legal, and we sell them.

The best known is the Lost Mary BM6000, a rechargeable kit that was never sold as a disposable in the UK.

The Lost Mary BM600 kit took over from the old BM600 disposable, with the same name but a rechargeable body and replacement pods.

Are Lost Mary Vapes Banned?

Only the disposables. Since 1 June 2025, no business in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland can sell, supply, offer or stock a single-use vape, Lost Mary or any other brand. Lost Mary kits that recharge and take new pods are not affected.

The ban is on businesses. It does not make it an offence to own or use a disposable you already have, and the gov.uk guidance on the single-use vapes ban sets out the rules.

Why Are Lost Mary Vapes Banned?

A vape counts as single-use if its battery cannot be recharged or it cannot be refilled. To stay legal it needs a rechargeable battery, a pod or tank that can be refilled or replaced, and a replaceable coil if it has one, with the pods and coils sold separately.

Lost Mary disposables failed that test, so they were banned with every other disposable. The government gave two main reasons:

• Waste: almost five million single-use vapes were littered or thrown in general waste every week in the UK, along with the lithium in their batteries.
• Young people: over half of children who vape said disposables were their choice.

What Happened to the Old Lost Mary Vapes?

Every single-use Lost Mary came off sale on 1 June 2025. These are the best known:

A shop selling an old Lost Mary disposable today is breaking the law, and there is no legal way to buy one new in the UK.

Which Lost Mary Vapes Are Still Legal?

Every Lost Mary kit we sell is rechargeable over USB-C and takes replacement pods that are sold separately, so all of them are legal:

• BM6000: a 2ml pod with a 10ml refill container, for up to 6,000 puffs a pack.
• BM600: a small kit with 2ml pods, the rechargeable version of the old disposable.
• Lost Mary Nera 30K: the Nera Fullview device, with a curved screen, Turbo mode and two pods in the box.
• Lost Mary Nera 15K: the same Nera device with one pod.
• Hawcos x Lost Mary Crystal Pro: a 600 puff kit with 2ml pods.

Yes. The kits above, their replacement pods and Lost Mary nic salts are all on sale.

Lost Mary Vapes and the Vape Tax

Since 1 October 2026, the Vaping Products Duty has added £2.20 for every 10ml of vaping liquid, with or without nicotine. Stock made in or brought into the UK before then can be sold without a stamp until 31 March 2027.

From 1 April 2027, every vape and e-liquid sold in the UK must carry a yellow or red, tamper-evident duty stamp on the pack. Under the gov.uk rules for vaping products, HMRC can seize unstamped stock and fine or prosecute the seller.

How to Tell If a Lost Mary Is Fake

A fake or black market Lost Mary has not been through the UK checks, so there is no way of knowing what is in the liquid or how safe the battery is. These are the signs to look for:

• No duty stamp: from 1 April 2027, a Lost Mary without a yellow or red duty stamp should not be on sale.
• A Lost Mary disposable: no single-use Lost Mary has been legal to sell in the UK since 1 June 2025.
• Too much liquid or nicotine: in the UK a pod or tank holds no more than 2ml, a refill container no more than 10ml, and nicotine is capped at 20mg per ml.
• No nicotine warning: UK packs must say "This product contains nicotine which is a highly addictive substance".
• A price that looks too good: in our view, a Lost Mary far cheaper than everywhere else is the biggest warning sign now that the duty applies.

Buy from a UK shop you know. If you think a vape is illicit, you can report it to HMRC or your local Trading Standards.

Is Lost Mary Discontinued?

No. Only the disposables were taken off sale. Lost Mary have kept releasing rechargeable kits since the ban, including the Nera 30K.

We no longer sell the Lost Mary Tappo or its pods. If you used one, in our view the BM600 kit is the closest we sell, with 2ml prefilled pods.

Are Rechargeable Vapes Being Banned?

No. The ban covers single-use vapes only. Prefilled pod kits, refillable pod kits and tank kits are legal, as long as they recharge and can be refilled or take a replacement pod, with their pods and coils sold separately.

What Are the Alternatives to Lost Mary Disposables?

• A prefilled pod kit is the closest to a disposable: charge it, clip in a pod and swap the pod when it is empty. Other brands are in our prefilled pod kits.
• A refillable pod kit lets you choose any e-liquid and strength, and in our view is cheaper to keep going. You fill the pod yourself.
