Sub-Ohm Coils (0.15Ω - 0.6Ω)

Sub-ohm vape coils changed everything when they arrived. Low resistance means you can push serious wattage through them. We're talking SMOK TFV series, Vaporesso GTI coils, GeekVape Z series - all capable of 50-200W if your mod can handle it. You'll need high-VG juice for these, 70/30 minimum, and drop your nicotine down to 3-6mg as above that is far too much.

MTL Coils (0.8Ω - 1.6Ω)

MTL vape coils give you that familiar feeling if you're coming from cigarettes. Nautilus BVC coils started it all and they're still brilliant. Vaporesso GTX coils and PnP-TM series work at 10-25W, which means your battery lasts ages. These coils love 50/50 juice and nic salts - you get the nicotine hit without clouds.

Mesh Coils vs Traditional

Mesh vape coils use a flat strip of mesh rather than wrapped wire. More surface area means better flavour and no hot spots. Traditional wire coils haven't disappeared though - some MTL vapers swear by them for that perfect restricted draw. These days most sub-ohm coils use mesh because it works better, simple as that.
