Geekvape Aegis Solo 5 Kit

The Geekvape Aegis Solo 5 is a 100W sub ohm vape kit that takes a single 21700 or 18650 battery. It is IP68 rated for water, dust and shock and has a 1.08 inch screen.

As a vape mod kit, the mod comes with the Z Subohm Tank 5 and Z XM Boost coils fitted for DTL vaping, so a battery is all you add.

It follows the Aegis Solo 3 in the Geekvape Aegis line, adding 21700 support, A-Lock with a status indicator and a bigger screen.

21700 or 18650 Battery

The Aegis Solo 5 takes one external 21700 or 18650 battery, where the Solo 3 took an 18650 only. There is no built-in battery version. A 21700 fits straight in, and an 18650 to 21700 adapter in the box lets you use an 18650 instead. Batteries are not included, so you will need one 21700 vape battery or 18650 to get started.

IP68 Waterproof, Dustproof and Shockproof

Geekvape rate the Aegis Solo 5 to IP68, which makes it a waterproof vape kit as well as dustproof and shockproof. It survives 1.5m of water for 30 minutes, takes up to 80kg of impact and keeps out dust down to 75 microns. The USB-C port, the A-Lock and the battery compartment are all sealed, and the metal frame sits inside silicone armour with a shock-absorbing silicone base.

Smart Mode, Power Mode and A-Lock

Smart Mode identifies the coil fitted and sets a suitable power range for it. Power Mode lets you set the wattage yourself, from 5W to 100W. A-Lock now has a status indicator, and the button lock locks the adjustment buttons while the Aegis Solo 5 stays ready to fire.

Aegis Solo 5 Tank and Coils

The kit comes with the Z Subohm Tank 5, a top push fill tank with top adjustable airflow, a leak-resistant build and an 810 drip tip. A 0.2 ohm Z XM Boost coil comes fitted, with a 0.4 ohm coil as a spare.

Geekvape rate the tank best for DTL, so high VG vape juice suits both coils.

For most people that means a shortfill e liquid at 3mg or 6mg.

Aegis Solo 5 vs Solo 3

Both are 100W, IP68 and charge at 5V 2A. What the Aegis Solo 5 changes:
