Innokin Coolfire Z Air Kit

The Coolfire Z Air is Innokin's answer to a question a lot of people ask, which is whether a refillable has to be complicated. It has three power levels, a button, and a light that tells you how much charge is left. That is the whole interface. No screen, no menus, no wattage to dial in.

Underneath it is a 2000mAh battery driving a 2ml tank on the Z Series coils, tuned for a pure MTL draw. That is the tight, cigarette-like pull most people want when they are coming off smoking or off a disposable.

It fills from the top and takes 10mg or 20mg nic salts, which is what suits an MTL coil at these wattages.

Z Coils and Which One to Fit

The Z Air takes Innokin Z coils, and Innokin have confirmed that Z coils replaced the old Zenith coils entirely, so the two names mean the same thing. Three resistances suit this kit.

The same coils go in the Zenith II Tank and the Coolfire Z80 NEX, so if you already own either, your spares carry over. Innokin do not list the sub-ohm Z coils for this kit, so stick to 0.8ohm and above.

Three Power Levels

Low, medium and high, and the level moves with the coil you have fitted. On the 0.8ohm that is 15W, 17W or 18W. On the 1.2ohm it is 11W, 13W or 14W. On the 1.6ohm, 9W, 11W or 12W. So low on one coil is not the same as low on another, the kit adjusts to what is in it.

2000mAh and 2A Charging

2000mAh at MTL wattages is a comfortable day for most people, often more. Charging is 2A over USB-C and Innokin put a full charge at around an hour, so it is a top up while you eat rather than something you plan an evening around.

Top Fill, Airflow and the Light

The top cap comes off for filling, so the tank stays on the battery. Airflow adjusts on a ring at the base of the tank, from a tight cigarette pull to something a little airier. The indicator light does the job a screen would: white above 30 percent, yellow between 10 and 30, red below 10.

Colours

Six finishes: Midnight Black, Titanium Grey, Royal Blue, Lavender Mist, Champagne Gold and Peach Pink. All six are the same metal body, just different anodising.
