Design
The design of the Sonder Q2 gets a 4 out of 5 , with a point only being deducted because of the lack of grip.
The Sonder Q2 is a very pretty device that keeps things simple, which is very much to its betterment. Coming in 10 gorgeous metallic colourways, there’s a design for everyone.
The device body is made from an aluminium alloy which easily protects the unit from everyday bumps and scrapes, and thanks to its slim design, it’ll slip into a trouser, or even a shirt pocket with ease.
Unfortunately It’s not ridged on the front and back like it’s predecessor which makes it more prone to slipping from your grasp, but it’s emblazoned with the Sonder logo on the front and houses an updated nifty little trick that we’ll get to later on.
Battery and Power
For battery and power, theSonder Q gets 5 out of 5 . Even without the Type-C cable, the bigger battery more than makes up for it.
Sporting a 1350mAh battery that’s rechargeable via Type-C USB, Geekvape claims that the Sonder Q can last for up to 2 days on a single charge, so the Sonder Q2 with its more powerful battery should be able to last even longer, which is pretty awesome. Of course, this figure will vary depending on frequency of use, but all the same, even getting you through one full day would be great.
As mentioned, this device is rechargeable via Type-C 5V/1A USB and will get you back to vaping in no time at all. Sadly, the kit doesn’t come with its own Type-C cable, so hopefully you have one lying around the house that you can use - otherwise they can be bought pretty cheaply online.
As for power, the Sonder Q2 has a max output of 30W. The unique thing about it however - and something that really scratched the tech itch in my brain - is that the device auto detects what type of resistance pod you’re using and adjusts the power output accordingly.
It’s this feature that really sets it apart from the rest and makes it so ideal for disposable users to switch over to - no hassle, no complicated settings, just easy vaping.
Air Flow and Vaping Style
The air flow control gets a 5 out of 5 . For a pod kit this cheap, it’s designed exceptionally well and allows for such a diverse range of vaping. It’s quite amazing what they’ve done with it really.
Air flow on this device is second to none. Sporting a fully adjustable air flow control slider, vapers are able to enjoy both MTL (Mouth to Lung) and RDL (Restricted Direct Lung) vaping styles, and anywhere that falls in between that.
The design of the slider is also excellent. There’s just enough resistance so that even when taking it in and out of a pocket or accidentally brushing it, it’ll keep the level of air flow exactly where you set it.
Pod Filling and Resistances
For the pod, it’s going to get a 5 out of 5 . While the mouthpiece/filling shenanigans let it down, being able to purchase it with a side fill pod instead brings its score back up.
With the Sonder Q2 comes one Q Pod - Geekvapes’ new pod line that is compatible with all Q devices such as the AQ (Aegis Q) , the Wenax Q , and the original Sonder Q.
These ones are a 2ml top fill variety, although it can be purchased with a 3ml XL side fill pod - these are available to purchase separately too, but we’ll get to those later.
To fill the top fill variety, simply pop off the mouthpiece, insert the nozzle of your e-liquid into the filling port and fill as desired. Pop the mouthpiece back on when you’re done and you’re good to go.
It must be said though, that while popping the mouthpiece on and off to refill is easy, it is a little bit annoying, and not as convenient as it could have been.
The top fill pod that comes with the device is 0.8 Ohm, unlike the 0.6 Ohm pod that comes with the original Sonder Q, but they also come in two other resistances, with each working best at a different power output which the device detects automatically. The resistances are:
0.6 Ohm (18-25W)
0.8 Ohm (12-18W)
1.2 Ohm (8-12W)
Now, the flavour production from these pods is absolutely phenomenal. The auto-output detection works like a charm and you get such delicious, well developed flavours right from the first puff. Once again, how on earth they managed this with a simple pod system is incredible.
Extra Features and Pricing
For extra features and pricing, the Sonder Q2 gets a 5 out of 5 . With such a lovely little feature in the battery indicator, and excellent budget friendly pricing, you really can’t go wrong.
There aren’t a whole lot of extra features with this device, but then again, it doesn’t really need them - it does so well by keeping things simple. The main extra feature however, is the battery indicator.
At first glance it doesn’t look like it has one, but once you plug it in, pop a pod in or take a draw from it, the magic is revealed. The “O” in the Sonder logo on the front lights up as a beautiful RGB colour wheel to indicate battery level.
This clever integration of battery indication produced a smile when I first saw it and it's the perfect feature to round off this awesome little device.
As for pricing, normally this unit sits at around £12.99. However with Ecigone, you can get your hands on the Sonder Q2 for only £8.99. Bargain, eh?
A Summary of the Sonder Q2
So the Sonder Q2. Still small, stylish and even more powerful than its predecessor. It's an incredibly well designed pod vape kit that hits all the right notes with its minimal design and intense flavour production. It is brought down ever so slightly in some areas - mainly the lack of Type-C USB cable - but thanks to the bigger battery and option to buy it with a side fill pod, the Sonder Q2 redeems itself and is an exceptional device - one that I would be happy to recommend it to anyone looking to move from disposable vapes to refillables.
Overall Score: 5 out of 5.
Let’s Take a Look at The Side Fill Q Pods
Our Score: 5 out of 5
Now you know all about the Sonder Q2, it’s time to move on to the Side fill Q Pod . As you’ll remember, the Sonder Q2 comes equipped with a top fill Q pod, which works well but has one small issue - removing the mouthpiece every time you want to refill it.

Q Pod Side Fill
Now you know all about the Sonder Q2, it’s time to move on to the Side fill Q Pod . As you’ll remember, the Sonder Q2 comes equipped with a top fill Q pod, which works well but has one small issue - removing the mouthpiece every time you want to refill it.
But it can also be bought with the new side fill Q Pod which doesn’t have this issue. With a small rubber bung in the side, it makes refilling much easier.
Also, thanks to the switch to side filling, this has freed up space in the pod to make them 3ml XL in capacity, which is a great upgrade over the 2ml top fill variety.
Design
The Q Pod side fills have a much sleeker design then their top fill cousin. With no more detachable mouthpiece, the pod is an all-in-one structure with anti-leak systems in place, a condensation absorption layer, and is completely transparent from top to bottom.
They’re even colour coded in red, orange, yellow, and green so you know which resistance you have at a glance.
The design gets a 5 out of 5 . The Q Pod side fill is a huge improvement over the top fill model, with user convenience upgraded thanks to simple touches.
Pod Filling and Resistances
Refilling the Q Pod side fill is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Simply remove the rubber bung, fill to your desired level, pop the bung back in and continue vaping - it’s that easy.
The Q Pod side fill has a mesh coil with the latest VPU technology - this increases vapour cloud production by up to 23.7% and offers a long lifespan. It also features a ceramic core and VPU-standard non-woven wicking material, as well as increased safety measures for your peace of mind and better longevity.
As for resistance, Geekvape has added a fourth resistance to the line up. They’re colour coded as mentioned above, so knowing what you have in at any one time only takes a glance.
0.4 Ohm - Red (25-30W)
0.6 Ohm - Orange (18-25W)
0.8 Ohm - Yellow (12-18W)
1.2 Ohm - Green (8-12W)
Once again the flavour production in these pods is absolutely outstanding.
Thanks to the revamped filling system, the pod filling gets another 5 out of 5 . This little tweak has made them possibly the best refillable pods around.
Upgraded Features and Pricing
When it comes to upgraded features, the Q Pod side fill has a fairly big one.
Thanks to the new placement of the filling port, these new pods have space for an extra 1ml of e-liquid, making them 3ml XL pods. This dramatically increases the time between refills which means your sessions can go on even longer than before.
As for pricing, the pods come in a pack of three and usually sit around £9.99, but at Ecigone you can pick up a pack for only £7.99.
For this category, it’s getting a third and final 5 out of 5 . Bigger pod capacity means more e-liquid and longer vape times. It’s a win-win-win in my book.
A Summary of the Q Pod Sidefill
The Q Pod side fill is a huge upgrade over the top fill variety. From improved coil technology, an extra coil resistance, and a larger capacity, it really just ticks all the boxes of what a pod should be and do.
Its easy side fill method allows for quick refills, while the 3ml XL capacity extends vaping sessions. The VPU-powered mesh coil enhances vapour production and safety, and users can choose from four colour-coded resistance options (0.4 Ohm, 0.6 Ohm, 0.8 Ohm, and 1.2 Ohm) for a tailored experience. Overall, it earns a perfect score of 5 out of 5 for convenience and performance.
So naturally, the Q Pod side fill gets a final score of 5 out of 5. I mean really, how could it not?
Conclusion
So there you have it. The Sonder Q2 and Q Pod side fill provide an effortless and user-friendly experience that vapers both old and new will love. From the durable aluminium alloy body and auto-output detection of the Sonder Q2 to the powerful VPU mesh coil technology and exceptional flavour development of the Q Pod side fill, it’s clear to see that Geekvape have put their heart into these wonderful products.
